GOG announced today that from tomorrow, April 1st, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 3D will increase in price. That's bad news for people who had it in their wishlists -on the flip side, however, this gave me an idea on a giveaway! :P
The prize of this giveaway is evidently Rogue Squadron. (duh!)

Requirements to enter:
-Have a positive rep.
-Be a member here on GOG since Nov2014 and before.
-You can enter for yourself or for others(your choice!)
-As I'll be giving one copy of the game, there'll be only one winner

Optional (in order for the thread to have some interest) discussion subjects (you can choose one or both or neither-whatever you like! :D):
-So, flight games. How do you find them? What interests you in them? Or doesn't interest you (if you're not in)? etc (since Rogue Squadron is a flight game, this is a fitting subject...)
-Price increases-What do you think about them? About the motives of the publishers that enforce them, for example? etc (again a fitting subject, regarding the price increase...)

I'll close the giveaway sometime on Monday, April 6th (or earlier if there's a lack of entries) and will decide the winner via random.org.
Good luck! :-)

I'm in. It would be fun to relive my glory days as one of the Rogues :)

Honestly, I don't really like most flight games, and I suck at them. I don't really know if I suck at them becasue I don't like them enough to spend time and get any better, or if I dislike them because I suck at them. Rogue Squadron is such a fond memory for me because it's one of the few flight games that I was pretty good at. Add to it the Star Wars setting, and you have one of my favourites from a long time ago (in agalaxy far, far away).

I'll enter.

I don't have a huge interest in flight games but I hear rouge squadron is simpler than others so it seems to me like a gateway game into the genre.

I am not sure about price increases. I suppose they are harmless, people will of course criticize you if you charge $30 for Ultima 2 in today's world but ultimately the publisher has the right to price the games how they want
Not in, but thanks for the giveaway! +1
Not in but thanks for the giveaway.
Not in, just saying thanks for the giveaway! :)
I'm in!!

- space combat flight simulators = cool, I love them!
- normal flight simulators = boriingg!
- price increase: it's bad for us, but it's a publisher's right! (still not sure if this one is just a crappy joke for the 1st of April)
I'll enter for phaolo. Thanks Treasure! (+1)

Flight Sims: Often a bit complex, but I still enjoy them whenever I'm in the mood for some realistic flying. Flight sims that put you in the cockpit of something cool like an X-Wing have me very interested. (the main reason why I bought X-Wing on GOG)

Price increase: Well... not the best move a publisher can make, but it could be a lot worse. Hey, shit happens :P
well sure im in

price hikes well they happen but these two are a bit egregious to be honest
a nearly 50% price increase

to be honest because tomorrow is april fools and because the thread is neither stickied nor blue and doesnt feel official it may just be a joke
but we will have to see
Don't you need a joystick to play this game?
Anyway, not in, but maybe I'll enter for someone later, so I will edit this then.
In for phaolo.
Thank you for your generosity. +1.

HEY! Thank you BMF and mrkgnao!!
I'm in! The list of desired Star Wars games on the WL is long, what a great opportunity to take one off!

I like flight sims a lot. I played the original Flight Simulator in the mid-80s and MS Flight Simulator has been a never-ending recurrence of something I play when the mood strikes. They can really make you feel like you're simulated-flying and I love that feeling. Combat flight sims I love even more. My love for them probably originates in the original Star Wars movies, those flight battles always gave me such a thrill like nothing else and they're definitely some of the highlights of the prequels. Perhaps needless to say, TIE Fighter has always held a special place for me and is one of my all-time favorites (bring the definitive version to GOG, already, dangit!) I had X-Wing back in the day as well but it always crashed for me and I couldn't get far because of that, and I've never gotten to play X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, much to my dismay.

Rebel Assault is also a game I played so many times and always loved (game 1000 on GOG, perhaps), the action-flight-combat missions more than anything (definitely arcade vs. simulation though.) I never played Rogue Squadron (never had consoles other than atari, so would only play N64, rarely, at friend's places, no one ever had Rogue Squadron), but would love to, so, thanks for the opportunity!

As far as price increases. I really don't think there is a need for it at all. If anything there should be price decreases over time. But it's those greedy mofos at the other end that feel like they can be more greedy and so they are, because that is the nature of greed.
Not in, just wanted to say thanks for the giveaway!

In, and thanks!

I find flight sims quite liberating, that being said, too much freedom is a bit bland... I mean regular flight sims where you fly across featureless countryside don't hold any appeal for me. I really enjoy various space flight sims like Freespace 1+2 etc.

I remember when this game came out on N64. I was blown away. It made me really want that console.
