Has anybody successfully installed and played the GOG version of Riven on Vista Home Premium SP2 64 bit ? I want to check before purchasing, any help greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I don't believe I have ever installed anything sucessfully on Vista. At minimum move to Win 7.
As for your question, the game page states it works on XP, Vista, 7, and 8, so if it doesn't you can always get your money back.

But seriously consider ditching Vista, literally any other OS is far better.

Compared to Windows Vista, there is just nothing bad about Windows 7. If you were talking about Windows 10, i think many people would understand though ;)

But to be entirely honest, Windows Vista with all service packs was not too bad.

I suppose you could try ScummVM, which has support for Riven now.
