Capcom and GOG strike again: this time around to reveal the re-release date of the original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis!

Capcom's Resident Evil™ series has defined and revolutionized the survival horror genre, with the original Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3 being standout titles that have captivated gamers worldwide. Now, it’s time to complete the trilogy.

Just like with Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2, we made sure GOG's version of the third entry in the series is the best it can be. You can expect a variety of quality of life improvements, compatibility with modern systems, full modern controllers support, and even more.

That being said, we’re happy to announce that the original Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is officially re-releasing on September 25th, 8 AM UTC!

It’s coming in really soon – so wishlist it now, and get ready for the ultimate horror experience!

I thought this was the release of the day, but of course it's just an announcement.

Pax-Christi: Let's hope RE4: Ultimate HD Edition and RE5: Gold Edition are next!.

darthspudius: Why? They're available else where. Dino Crisis series would be better.
RE 5: Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: The Enigma Protector

Hope you like "The Enigma" malware, it sounds nasty!
Nice!
"Weeeelcome!" - RE4 Merchant

Oh wait, too soon for that...?
I feel like the anniversary is too soon after the launch of RE3 for GOG to be like "surprise, here's RE4, 5, and 6 so you can continue the horror", but I would like it. I'm not going to want to stop after playing through RE3.

These re-releases must have done well enough to justify bringing over more RE games in short order.
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
*sees nemesis nearby*
(quietly) Yaaaaaaay

Yes, Dino Crisis 1 and 3(2 was so so) would be nice to see as a release :)

As for games elsewhere, I will gladly buy some games gog doesn't have 'elsewhere' and strip the DRM out. And before anyone replies "you're the reason why DRM isn't going anywhere!" or similar, don't kid yourselves...DRM likely isn't going anywhere anytime soon no matter how many games release on GOG/zoom, and I don't feel like waiting eons for 'king AAA' to deign tossing us some titles here.
(when I do buy elsewhere it's often at a sizable discount. I won't pay much if I have to do a large chunk of the work)

It also sounds like a decently mysterious title for a hidden object game :)

Which version? ;D

Jokes aside, I have it already DRM-free(wii and ps2 versions) but I wouldn't mind it being released here for people who want it.

Missed opportunity not releasing it on September 28...
hope we got the REmake someday too
I'd rather they do Resident Evil Zero next and keep it old skool.

With how gog often releases offline installers, we just might end up getting it closer to that date :\
(probably not on that exact date, though, as it's the weekend)

Good game, very good intro. Hopefully we get it here at some point.

Nice!
They are very good classic games although the gameplay is different from what we see today.
It's a series that I really like.
I'm happy for the games here at GOG. :)
I hope more classics are here in the future.
Now, even though there is less time free for me, yet try to come here to see the news and follow some of the forum.
Thank you GOG for bringing classic games for here.
Once again, I'm grateful that we are getting this old masterpiece. Thanks GOG and Capcom. I've been playing for the past month mostly Resident Evil (Yeah lately I play slower). This three games + the Resident Evil bundle (steam games), really damn happy!
Wow, never seen this particular forum bug invoked by one of GOG's own posts before. Good job! :P
RE3 was my very first experience of fixed-camera survival horror genre. I wanna say that the only game I played prior to it was the Nightmare Creatures II for PS1; which was an absolute masterpiece by the way.

Something about RE3 always kept me fascinated. I wanna say the Nemesis played a big role, but it was also the music and atmosphere. Haven't played the recent remake of it, but I heard that they gutted it and removed a ton of old content. That kinda stings...

Anyway, glad that I could go back to actually play this game without cheats this time around :P
Noooo.. :) September 28th please, at daylight.
