Behind-the-scenes Early Sneak Peek

"Hear from Director Christophe Gans and Producer Victor Hadida, and get a look at some behind-the-scenes action on the set of RETURN TO SILENT HILL in this preview for the upcoming movie."
I'm sure they'll treat this property as carefully as any American has carefully treated any property they've been entrusted with.

35 Critical rating, not even riffable.

Edit/Addendum: Can't wait for some enterprising hack to discover Nethack.

Silent Hill (2006) remains the most faithful (including some liberties) game-to-screen adaptation probably ever, and having the original director return for the actual sequel instills at least some hope that this could be about as good?
Is it just me or the movie looks very early 2000s, at least aesthetically?

Remains to be seen, it's still releasing this year supposedly.
And yes, the first one I do consider *chef's kiss* too, as far as translating from video game to live-action is concerned, in no small part also due to Gans occupying the director's chair. Le pacte des loups from a couple years earlier could pass as an adaptation of a video game from the early 2000s just as well.

Not just you.
Some shots do look like they're still missing colour grading and visual effects though.
Made by the guy that directed the first movie which was an absolute dumpster fire? No thanks, but hey, at least Pyramid Head appearing makes sense this time. :P

Edit: Some might love that first movie, I thought it was awful.

You don't happen to mistake the first one with Revelation, by any chance?
"Dumpster fire" certainly and undeniably is applicable in this case, but the first one from 2006?

WTF, there's two movies? xD

Just watched a trailer for both movies, they must've blended together for me over time. :)
I'd still say both movies are awful, to me at least, but I couldn't tell you if I hated every bit of the first movie.

Edit: I can't remember a scene I liked, that's why I say I think both are awful. There could be a couple neat ideas or shots in those movies, but from what I remember those movies left a bad taste in my mouth.

Edit 2: Was 14 when Silent Hill 2006 came out, tastes change, maybe I should give the movie another go. :P

The Last of Us is far more faithful, and Silent Hill was a ridiculously terrible fan service. It couldn't even tell the story properly, so I'm not sure what you mean by faithful. Because that movie was not even close.

I really liked the first movie. The second was meh, but also not bad. You know, still much better than those awful Resident Evil movies.
So I'm looking forward to the third one.
