Nobody sells the original for PC. You'll have to look for a used copy.

Steam offers the Remakes: http://store.steampowered.com/sale/resident-evil
Hmmm... Even if you got a copy of it, compatibility issues would be quite a problem. Dated 1997, so windows 95 or MS-Dos. MS-Dos would be easier to get working.

It would probably be easier just to go with the Playstation version...

Please, there are several guides on the net that explain how to get it to run these days like this one. It was written for Windows 8 but should also apply to Windows 10.

Its actually not that bad. This is the guide I followed to get my original CD version working under Windows 10:

EDIT: Oh sorry, I read that as "president evil"...

I'd follow that. Nice guys don't finish first. Well... they do if lefties are running things. Participation awards and all that.

Nope, with a bit of work Resident Evil 1 can be played on modern systems. Heck, Resident Evil 2 always surprises me for how much compatible it is with recent hardware!

And RE1 is a Windows 95-based game.

*At least, I was always able to let RE1 and RE2 run on my systems. Your mileage/skills in doing so may vary...*
