Hello!

I'd like to know how to solve my current situation:
I'm using GOG Galaxy and I installed "Morrowind". At the first start I set up wrong some settings and I don't know how to reset it to default.
So I uninstalled the game removing all saves and I installed it again. But it keeps the setting I made earlier.
I also tried to uninstall GOG Galaxy but nothing changed when I installed everything again.

Someone kindly knows how to delete the game configuration file ir where they are?
Maybe is useful also for other games ( I suppose ).

Thanks, I wish you a happy day!

I only use the offline installers so can't help you there, but in regards to

you could always look up the game in question's page on PCGamingWiki, and check the "Game data" section for the location of the configuration file(s).

For Morrowind (pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/The_Elder_Scrolls_III:_Morrowind) this would be:
<path-to-game>\Morrowind.ini
resp.
in the Windows registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind

Hi Swedrami!

Thanks for the advice, I didn't know about those website. It's not the first time I hear about it but I'm not an habitual user.
Also thanks for the data you already sent me, I will take a look as soon as I return home this evening.

Have a nice day!

Thanks :D
Offline installers do remove everything (there is some issues with innosetup itself for GOG, some disc installers or any else - it can remove ROOT folder eg .\Games\, so im always press keep saves button in uninstaller).

Uninstalling should be better for Galaxy client. Try to install and then uninstall game again.
Also turn off (and probably never use ny kind of) Cloud Saves.

And yes, use wiki site linked above. Just keep in mind it is open Wiki - anyone can edit it (mess or big mess for most popular games, more closer to steam guides, but most pages are OK).
Another thing for Wiki - not complete info. A lot of games have emty path templatebox'es, and almost all games do not describe WinRegitry sections game use (and recreate after next start) - HKLM and HKCU.

But this is good start anyway

Hi!
I made some research but I couldn't find a solution.
Currently there was nothing in the windows registry attributable to Morrowind.
Also the game folder was completely deleted, so I really couldn't find anything.
I searched for the word "morrowind" in all the "C" drive without results.

It seems like a ghost configuration XD
Maybe is really saved in some sort of "GOG Cloud" ?

See ya!
As for GOG Galaxy game saves path
(and sometimes even GOG offline)
%USERPROFILE%/AppData\Local\GOG.com\Galaxy\Applications\
I tried everything, also disabling GOG Cloud Saves or delete everything in the path suggested by QWEEDDYZ.
No results. It's pretty incredible or maybe I'm not good with this operation.

By the way I'm gonna opening a Ticket and I'll let you know what the support says.

See ya

You've checked the following locations?
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind
Also .\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\...

Hello!
Ok nice :D
I found the configurations file there! I deleted the whole folders and now it works.
All settings are now on default.

Thank you!

By the way it seems to be pretty complicated for a rookie. Isn't it?

Peanuts compared to some other OLD games (especially the original releases). ;-)
I've been playing PC (DOS/Windows) games since the end of the 80s. You learned a lot trying to get these things to work.
Wow, I just had the exact same problem with "Into the Waters". It's completely ridiculous not being able to rest the game config in any way without tampering in the registry! I wasted hours of my time trying to solve this, GOG really has to do something about this!
Well, the Windows Registry really is a Windows problem. In Linux, you get /.config/ and you can delete .rc or .conf files to reinitialize most programs.
