Hipster Alex vs the World.

YIIK: A Postmodern RPG is now available DRM-free.

It's not Alex that's paranoid. It's the world that's gone totally barking MAD, mate! Armed with an unwavering obsession to prove his outlandish conspiracy theories true, he gathers an army of weir--- enlightened warriors and together they'll run the gamut of addictive JRPG activities: mini games, listening to electro music, and turn-based fighting against foul monsters who have no business existing in the first place.
Looked up reviews because this game seems like it can go either way... what I got back was, the people who like it, think it’s a solid 4/5, while the people not liking it did so mostly because it’s not woke enough... sounds like the perfect fit for GOG ;)

I’m buying
i will say that at first this was not appealing to me at all. i did watch some reviews on youtube though, and much of what i saw seems strangely appealing. i might pick this up later today.
Glad that the game has "A" instead of "The" in the title, since this wasn't the first postmodern RPG. Questions are: will it be a good postmodern RPG, and will it be the last one?

Really!? You have to fight poo? That's a big no thanks for me.
This seems very similar to Crossing Souls, and there was another one I'm forgetting the title right now... Gotta say it's really not my thing, these Scott Pilgrim style Pseudo-JRPGs. Pass.

Self Insertion: The game
YIIK? More like: Yuck!
Reminds me that we're still missing XIII on gog
high rated
I've been mostly absent from the GOG Forums as it seems to me they got flooded with people who really value their own opinion and seem to think EVERYONE needs to know they're NOT INTERESTED in any given game when it releases ("ANOTHER ROGUELITE, GOG?!" "ANOTHER PIXELART GAME, GOG?!" "WHERE ARE MY ELITIST GOOD OLD GAMES, GOG?!" "I'VE SEEN GAMES LIKE THESE A MILLION TIMES BEFORE, GOG!!" "PLEASE RELEASE THAT CRPG OR THAT STRATEGY GAME NERDS LIKE ME LOVE, GOG!!"), and, sadly, this thread is already full of that crap. So, I just wanted to say I've been keeping YIIK under my radar and that I instantly purchased it, along with Feudal Alloy.

You're doing a good job, GOG, thanks for catering to ALL of us, not just the elitist gatekeeping nerds who feel bad because gaming is no longer "just for a select few".
The trailer is a broken fucking mess that tells me nothing about the game. It's disjointed and doesn't help me figure out exactly what it is about or at least, how it's played. Complete turnoff for me and I love RPGs. Almost as much as dtgreene does. But I can't figure this one out. I'm not putting out money for a game when they can't build a coherent trailer.

GOG reads these threads.letting them know what we want and like is called communicating with the store. I don't care about Joe blow reading the comments, but rather the developers and store.

Eh, no. Sry mate, but it only says what some people want, and I think sales data are more important than comments of people who don't buy games (to GOG personnel of course).
Yiiiiikes, the writing in this is the wrong kind of bad.

I've seen several screenshots.

Also: How can this game be taken seriously with battle transitions slower than the likes of Final Fantasy 9?
