Isn't the first time that's happened :).

I'm sure Liberated is enjoying the free advertising :)
Link should probably be to https://www.gog.com/game/xel instead of Liberated (which was released in 2020).

Platform: Windows 10 only.
Link to the proper game in the OP seems to be fixed...

Assemble Entertainment will donate 10% of the proceeds for every sold Save the World Edition to Sea Watch, in order to help refugees from distress at sea!

A reason for me not to buy anything from that studio. I can't support a far left German NGO, 'rescuing' migrants to Europe - while others have to drown, those they admittedly can't safe. The casualties as they call them. If you got no problem or guilty consciousness supporting an organization doing what they do with part of your money, go ahead buy and have fun.

I'm not understanding this. If they can't save them all, they shouldn't save any? I don't mean to mischaracterize your statement, I'm asking because it appears that is what you are saying.

That's not what I say, it is what they said in interviews. Their and other radical far-left/antifa(cist) groups goal is no-border/no-nation, no person is illegal, anyone should have the right to live where they want and this must be supported no matter the cost. That's why they are out there to 'rescue' and transport people to Europe. If they were patrolling and bringing them to the next safe harbour to continue to save more people it would be very different. That's just not what they do - the only safe place is Europe and tens of thousands makes it there, with and without the help of such organizations, most die or are left to die on the sea or close to coastal waters.

Here is an interview

Balancing those concepts allows them to focus their energy. There is no point in trying to save someone who cannot be rescued, while others are more likely to survive.
So they basically decide who'se going to live and who'se going to die - called 'rescue', when they are around. Everyone they are able to 'rescue' and bring to the coasts of Europe, where others than fight by whatever means they deem is necessary. Once they are in a european country (western european countries preferrably, others aren't good enough because migrants don't receive as much monetary support ... go figure), others continue their work so they can stay. A link in the chain having many more die, because they aren't brought to the next coast and in 'their world' where the only safe place is Europe and only particular countries inside the EU,'.

That website is only one source you can learn the unfiltered truth about refugees, without agenda or political bias, basically what you don't find in local or international media outlets and or TV. There are other sources out there, painting a very different picture of NGO and the situation of people variously called refugee and migrant at other times, because that's what most lured from Africa are. (I could go on and on about this, but invite you if you are interested to find your own sources and learn more about it, from unbiased sources.)

As far as Europe is concerned, this is an explosive topic and year-on-year tens of thousands drown, made believe that ships are waiting for them to pick them up and transport them to Europe. Where, in reality, there is laregely a closed-border policy, where most nations now erect huge walls and fences, to keep those out who wishes to migrate to Europe and risk their lives in that attempt.

----

Sorry that I have said more here that maybe GOG allows and I do hope that it will be understood that HELPING REFUGEES is a great thing to do and should be supported. On a local level, where you actually help those getting to grips with their new environment, providing clothes and even (para)-legal aid. All I personally say is that such groups don't do that, they don't help but follow their own policy and do anything necessary to be present in the public. Protests, 'creative intervention' or however else. That's not what should be supported but stopped along with the real criminals getting people to risk their lifes.

I don't say what Sea Watch does is illegal or that they should be punished legal or otherwise for what they do. I DO say that what they are doing is contributing to more deaths, and their crews (they got more than one ship at the ready and planes to hunt down from coast-guards in Libya for instance) to get there first to get the unlucky few to Europe. I don't go into what happens to children and women once they are in Europe ... That's even worse and also helped by those organizations.

Thank you for clarifying. That wasn't the inference I drew from your initial statement.

No problem.I see how what I said initially could also be understood. You will understand that this is a highly sensitive (political) topic I wouldn't normally go into but know about intimately because I studied it and followed and in the past helped in a local organisation. That's about all I wish to say here and on this topic ... I hope you understand. :)

Way to have zero UI/menues in the screenshots. I can only assume the game is entirely shallow and bereft of any meaningful "RPG" mechanisms.

Was darn hard to find some notable UI even in a video, admittedly just skipping through it.
This seems to be the crafting interface. And just a glance at inventory and then the map. Probably were more such brief moments, but it'd take actually watching that in full and didn't bother.

One shouldn't have to resort to digging to find important coverage of a game's release.
Moreover, one shouldn't have to go inside videos for said coverage.

It's very common, entirely too common, to market games poorly. Games media has bee calling out bullshots (which also includes overly staged moments for screenshots, and use of pre-rendered, rather than live play, content for so-called "screenshots") for at least a decade.
Dammit gog bringing these cool little indie titles after my wallet got abused by the summer sales! Wishlisted, and saving it in my cart in case I forget.
