The one and only.

World of Goo, an ultra-popular paragon of DRM-free physics-based indie gaming, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount.

World of Goo is one of the most stirring and innovative indie games ever released. It, along with a few other titles, was responsible for the explosive emergence of the modern indie-gaming market in the late 2000s. Its success could be attributed to the high quality gameplay achieved for a fraction of normal development costs, novel design and physics-based gameplay, as well as the refreshingly down to earth, community-friendly developer attitude. World of Goo is a physics-puzzle game at its core, but remains a completely unique gameplay and visual experience that has been imitated, but never quite replicated.

Save the World of Goo from the nefarious World of Goo Corporation, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% launch discount will last for one week, until Thursday, February 12, at 10:59 AM GMT.

mistermumbles: I don't - no iDevices either other than a nano - and I'm not interested either. I like my dumb phone. If there's one thing I really hate about the whole smart phone craze is how glued people are to those damn things. It just annoys the bejeezus out of me. I mean, hello, there are other people here! Seriously, I swear it's getting to a point they should be banned in places. Gee, how did people live without them before? *le sigh* It's especially depressing when watching the younger generation with them. Ugh. It just hurts my brain thinking about it.

That ramble aside (=P) tablets are also of little use to me. I did go through a research period last summer looking at a whole bunch of them and comparison, and in the end decided it wouldn't be worth it as I'd end up doing the same thing on them as I would my PC but in a much more restricted environment, especially when it would be used most at home.

Man, I'm feeling old and I'm not that old, goddamnit! I've only just turned 33. Bleh.
33? ppppppffffffffttttt..... I just turned 35 last fall.... <young whipper-snapper....>

Seriously though, I totally agree with you. When I go on break with my co-workers I want to, like, actually talk to/socialize with them and have near constant eye-contact, rather than just sit watch them spend all the time on the phone or the internet (and that includes checking it periodically or every time the damn thing buzzes).

Guess I am just relic nowadays...

Exactly what mistermumbles wrote. I also have no so-called "smart" devices. I tried a couple of phones and tablets from friends and can say, touchscreens are overrated bullshit, working with these is inconvenient and frustrating.
I'm also in the beginning thirties but feel not old, quite the opposite. I feel alive and like a refreshing alternation in comparison to all these ... people.
Did I mention already that touchscreen technology is overrated bullshit? :)P

I guess i just don't like people in general :P

I'm all for tablets, tablets are knowledge at your fingertips and I found my Samsung 10.1 note 2014 ed. very useful studying through my Lab tech Diploma. Have it pointing at the experiment call out 'capture' bam instant data log that you can then annotate . Only problem I've found with tablets is that the programs on them are utterly useless junk even the games (that constantly chew up download bandwidth; if they want bandwidth so much let them pay for it).
Take any free excell like program on android and I swear it won't have the ability to give you the linear equation of an X,Y, Scatter graph nor the R^2 value... Fuckin useless.

I also do fire spinning and use a litho backed P.A. system for music; works on Bluetooth so I just stream; no need for expensive car based audio that people will steal your car for, or several miles of extension cord using your PC example :P
Very Good. Please more Indie ones. For the future releases, consider these ones:
- Super Meat Boy
- The Binding of Isaac (Original + Rebirth)
That's insta-whishlisted.

Finally something to make my empty pockets vibe. That's definitely a buy when I have spare resources.

Hmm.
I have enough puzzle games right now but.. Seems interesting and good reviews too.
I am happy that World of Goo is finally here, as well.

It's most positively one of my favorite clever puzzle games (got it at Steam and the Humble Store DRM free, so maybe I'll consider grabbing it here at a sale). Also, most of the level art is quite a thing to behold, and I can spend minutes just enjoying the beauty of it.

The soundtrack is also pure greatness.

Nah, just a matter of getting used to them. There's definitely situations where a mouse and/or keyboard won't cut it, and direct screen input is more efficient and practical. They just need to work on making them more precise and perhaps even more "intelligent", but I guess the latter is mostly a problem on the software side.
