We all love the freedom of choice and accessibility that come with DRM-free games, and we also enjoy titles that are meant to be played online. One of them is an iconic multiplayer game from Bethesda – Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory which is now available for FREE on GOG with our dedicated servers!

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is an online-only game - you play by connecting to a server which you or someone else runs. You can also play alone (vs. bots) by hosting your own game, or by setting up a local area network (LAN). This game was built to enjoy with others however, and so we've set our own GOG servers to play with y'all.

It's a true 2003 vanilla experience that you just gotta try and hunt down those pesky soldiers with “GOG” tag in their usernames. We’ve heard there will be plenty of those guys there!

In order to do so, all you have to do is get the game on GOG and join one of our servers. Here’s some details about them:

EU Server IP: 51.89.94.120:27960
NA Server IP: 192.169.92.211:27960
Game Type: Campaign
Maximum Players: 16 (8v8)
Mods: None
Friendly Fire: Yes
Punkbuster: No
Anti-Lag: Yes
Max Lives: Off
Weapon Restriction: Off
Moderation: Not this time baby

Our servers are up live now and will be until November 18th, 7 AM UTC. All you need to join is the IP. See you on the battlefield!

Alongside that, we’ve also launched a special Bethesda Halloween Sale. Check out amazing titles like Dishonored 2, The Evil Within 2, Prey, Doom Series and more with discounts up to 85%! Sale lasts until November 1st, 10 PM UTC.

To read more about how we want to approach online-only games on GOG and to share how you feel about it, check out our latest GOG 2022 UPDATE.

Nope, i can't find bot option
There are multiple mods that add bots, a simple search will direct you to them. They're very easy to install and run

Just a tip, many mods and configs for RTCW will still work with ET such as crouch toggle or jump script. Some other stuff works too like replacing insignias and flags.

Gudadantza: If the game wouldn't offer LAN then the game would have DRM? Just for the reason of playing with others over the internet? I don't think so. It is a different thing, a technical requirement, not a method of control or Digital rights management of any kind.
There is a lot of overlap between "DRM-free", "Game Preservation", and "Owning What You Buy", and I admit I have used "DRM-free" as an umbrella term for all three (I think most people do). But you are technically correct that the absence of LAN capability of a multiplayer-only game does not fall within the actual definition of Digital Rights Management.

However, it absolutely applies to the other two categories of game preservation and owning what you buy. The latter is even a mission statement of GOG (on the About page): "Owning the things you buy: We don't believe in controlling you and your games. Here, you won't be locked out of titles you paid for"

If a third party shuts down servers and it locks you out of a game you paid for, then that is antithetical to game preservation and owning what you buy.
Therefore, while I technically agree that it isn't Digital Rights Management, I strongly disagree that this technicality matters. The values and principles behind these ideas is much more important. There is so much overlap between DRM-free, game preservation, and owning what you buy, that I don't see much value in splitting hairs. But if someone comes up with a better umbrella term for all three concepts than "DRM-free", then I'd be happy to use it to avoid confusion in future.

Fair enough. It makes sense. I can see some conection, indeed

But they are different things, as I pointed above. If we need to take game by game if a title has DRM or not, then things will be even more confusing just for the sake of add a new variable and relativize the importance in what makes a game really DRM'd or not.

Greetings :)

Hello! Is this game stays temporarily free on GOG or permanently free on GOG?

It's been free since it was first released, so there's no reason to assume that it will not stay free on GOG.

Oh, okey. Thank you for your answer.
Is it possible to play offline and alone vs bots in the vanilla game (like Quake III or Unreal Tournament) or am I obliged to download some mods ?

Come on, Bethesda, now re-release Enemy Territory Quake Wars !

In vanilla (like on GOG) no, you need install separate mod. Or download open source port called ET Legacy which among others have integrated bots.

Good to know, thanks.
Even thou I don't think I'll ever play this game I'll still have it, for nostalgic reasons at least (I used to watch me brother play this a lot back then). So, thank you.
