Warriors of the Nile comes back in Warriors of the Nile 2, with a -10% launch discount! Thanks to our Winter Sale, you can get the first game for -50%, too, or simply both in a Bundle! The offer lasts until January 2nd, 11 PM UTC.

Warriors of the Nile is a strategy turn-based combat game of Ancient Egyptian themes and characters. It allows you to build a unique squad of warriors – through fast-paced battles, various levels and powerful bosses – and ultimately, defeat the Serpent Apophis and bring back the sun.

Warriors of the Nile 2 comes back in a similar experience of gameplay; this time though, with warriors equipped in a more unique combat style, their quest being to fight against the invading Roman army.

Join the Egyptian army now, or try it in a free demo!
I could buy the first game for: € 5.39
I could buy the second game for: € 11.29
I could buy both separately a total of: € 16.68

Or I could buy the bundle for: € 19.79

Usually, you'd think the bundle would be cheaper, at the time it's released.
I passed on the first game because, while I generally like the genre, I didn't care for the in-game art style. Now that you tell me there is a demo, I might try that out to see if the gameplay makes up for the visuals.

Definitely try it first. I bought the first game and did not like it. It got dull quickly. It's the kind of "roguelike" that you must fail a million times to unlock new things before you have any fair chance at success. The game itself wasn't too bad, but the way its progression/meta-game worked really turned me off from it.

It was so close!
Will the full version of the game have a UI scaling option?
Was the bundle intended to have a launch discount as well? As already pointed out, it's not worth it at the moment.

Edit: I guess the bundle went on sale.

Edit 2: thanks for the demo. I guess that although there are aspects I like (art and theme), I am not a fan of the randomness of character progression or the "play repeatedly to unlock" mechanic. I wish there were a name/tag to apply to such games And the promise of more than 3 characters is basically "your 3 characters can be assigned a class". I'll pass on both games.

Looking at the games, they seem quite cute. I see both games are rated very, very low while still having... very high grades in comments. How strange. You'd think if there were issues about the game more would say something other than just tossing low ratings. That doesn't tell me anything at all. ....and how is a game that isn't even out yet already set with low ratings? o.O

There are some people here that like to rate/review bomb games they don't want for whatever reason. It's another reason why I don't take stock in the rating system.

Ah, alright. Thank you. I tend to look at what the reasonings behind the ratings are and look more to how the game plays when someone is streaming it or has made videos with a PC version before buying to get an idea more.

Thanks for the warning! Although I like strategy games I do not like the graphics style and this game mechanics makes it even worse.

I did not play 2. Perhaps it's wildly different. YMMV. I'll try the demo of it at some point.

I'll probably do that too. But as the game has no Linux version I'll wait for a high discount anyway, so there's no hurry.
Looks like the bundle has a 20% discount, for the moment.
