Finally it is here :)
I helped with the German localisation of this game and just by reading the text alone I enjoyed it a lot - it is hillarious. The dev is a true GOG supporter as well (I loved Ghost 2.0 which has a similar amazing kind of humor ... all his games are up to date) and the price is all right. Play the demo and you will buy this at once.
The demo was very enjoyable and the humor had me laughing out loud a lot of times, at this price I cant say no.
Great, finally!
The demo was the funniest thing I've played in years. Glad it's here now.
Speaking of the demo, the link for it on https://www.gog.com/game/unmetal actually points back to itself.

It should point to https://www.gog.com/game/unmetal_demo

Edit: someone has fixed this.

checking for everyone else:

is there hidden drm that we need to be aware of?

please let us know - and preferably on the first page of this topic so that people don't have to go searching high and low for the answer to the question.

thank you.

this one has me absolutely intrigued. :)
I take it's MGS parody mostly? Will you lose a lot without knowing MGS?
Don't forget to add this thing to your cart when you buy UnMetal: It's free and fun!

EDIT: Or maybe just free, idk... Whatever, it's free. Get it!

From the UnMetal Creator Pack:

"But wouldn’t it be cool if that prisoner yelling at you to stop banging on their cell were the voice of your favorite content creator, like Ezekiel_III, Cohh Carnage, Skinnedteen, DeejayKnight, Friskk or Bloodyfaster?"

Who tf.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to play the game without the original disc case, since the back of the case shows you a codec frequency you have to... wait, I think I got this mixed up...

Seriously though, I was able to install and start the game without an active internet connection. I realize you probably only brought this up in order to put pressure on GOG for the Hitman release, but I'm leaving this info here in case anyone reads that comment and genuinely holds off buying the game because they're worried the GOG version might feature DRM:

So far, I haven't noticed any DRM and given the history of this developer, I have no reason to assume that the game does feature DRM of any kind. If I run afoul of anything down the line, I'll add it to this post.

Just judging by what I've seen in the demo, I'd say knowledge of MGS (or MGS-related memes at least, like the main character's voice acting) is probably helpful, but as long as you've seen a bunch of cheesy 80s/90s action movies and tv series, you're probably gonna get plenty of jokes and references. Like how the intro mentions the main character was taken prisoner in 1972 for a crime he didn't commit.
