kalmis666: Great game! Even if not so different from T3.

Prian: That´s the question i´m asking myself... Does it make sense to buy if i own Tropico 3 already? Is it worth the 10 bucks?
I'd say yes for 10$, no for 40, but it's a matter of taste. T4 is really "T3.5, but easier and with more stuff". Personally I love the faction leaders, gives a more "personal" approach, so I tend to play T4 more than T3 (although I miss Juanito).

Bought it, so let´s see... I had fun with the 3rd, so i´m hoping for the humour.

GeneralFailer: I based my statement on an edit on PCGamingWiki and only now have I noticed that this is noted below the system requirements. I think this isn't highlighted well at all.
avatar
Grargar: That's pretty disappointing.
They could at least give you an option to create a Kalypso account to enable these features.
Please note: online features, including online challenges, map sharing and social media features, have been disabled in this DRM-free release. Local challenges are still active.

And now it's from gamecard :S I am wondering why Tropico 3 have these features but Tropico 4 haven't :S

Yeah, GeneralFailer mentioned it above.

Probably because Tropico 3 didn't require the Kalypso Launcher in its retail and Steam release, while Tropico 4 does so in both.

Socratatus: Also, to IamSinister: I remember that game and avatar and played it religiously at the arcades. I used to love it when it said, "I HUNGER!" and started chasing my ship around! I used to have a crowd around me watching me play it! Damn great game of yesteryear.
avatar
IAmSinistar: Always good to hear from another fan of Sini's. He's a true icon of gaming, and the only other arcade villain that scared me as bad was Evil Otto. To Otto's credit, he actually did kill a couple of guys.
Never heard about that one! I may have seen Otto (having to think back a good few years here) , but was never interested enough to try it.
I`m pretty certain those poor lad`s death and the game was coincidence, as sad and unfortunate as it is.

GeneralFailer: Yet another example of how moronic the idea to add complicated DRM on top of Steamworks is. I think optimistically the launcher could only give Kalypso a couple of hours of time since launch without a working crack. Potentially it can only also give them and their customers a lot of headache.
Although I did buy just the Kalypso version which was far less annoying than having it tied into Steam. The GOG version now makes the whole thing truly sweeeet! No annoying client to prat about with. Just the way I like it.

I think their deaths are probably due to similar causes as those of some of the more recent Korean gamers, who simply kept playing until they died of exhaustion. They're not the first people who got hooked on something otherwise harmless until taken to an extreme.

Hesusio: I swear, you guys always release a game that I'm interested in only a few weeks after I cave and buy it on Steam.
Then rebuy it again, on GOG, cause all the games here can be played on any pc with no forced clients like steam does,
ofcourse there are lots of games on Steam that run without active steam installation on any windows (as long as it meets the min. requirements ofcourse) , but it will always require installed stream client to download the packages and install them.

About Tropico 4 : a very nice promo, "Get it in one purchase with the Complete DLC Pack for a 75% discount! "
too bad its engine is way differnt than the old Tropico Reloaded, i watched the videos on youtube, its differnt in many ways like the zooming , scrolling and more. The buildings look a bit to modern, i kinda liked the old buildings.

Anyways, if it had been like Tropico Reloaded i would have bought it straightaway cause 8 bucks for the game and 8 bucks for all the DLC is a great offer.

Just bought the Tropico Reloaded, got it long time ago on GG for 90 cents or so just to see what the game would be like, i do this on steam as well (prices up tot 1.50 euro), i still needed to get the tropico here, but i kept forgetting it :D
so its on the shelves now.

On the game page it`s said that the game is in german, at least the text. But this is not true, the game is in english and there is no german version of it to download. Weird thing is, that the installer can be set to german and that in the extras there is a german manual. But the game itself is in english and I didn`t find any option to change it to german.

kassj0peja: Great to see another Kalypso game on GoG.com. I hope others will follow from their library. I really want Sine Mora on GoG.com.
Yeah, GOG needs to get that game! 'Voted!
I'm glad we finally got this, even though 5 is out and it'll be a while until we get that one.

It reminds me we also need Patrician 4 and Port Royale 3, to catch up with those series a bit more ;)
