Toziuha Night: Order of the Alchemists is a 2D side-scrolling action platformer with features of a metroidvania RPG – and it’s now available on GOG!

Play as Xandria, a beautiful and skilled alchemist who, using an iron whip, fights against the most fearsome demons and other alchemists seeking to obtain a millenary power. To accomplish her mission, Xandria will use various chemical elements to perform powerful attacks and spells.

Now on GOG!
Neat-looking game, especially for someone who played the original Castlevania games.

The timing of releasing nearly full price here while it is 50% off also drm-free on another platform is a bit ill-considered though.

This one always looked pretty cool - I'm a little surprised to see it show up here, but it's definitely going on the wishlist, at the very least.

More of this, please.
Could you guys also release the OST?

Thanks for this! Gonna grab it right now.
Even by anime standards this is hideous. Was this made by AI? It looks AI-ish.

I guess they didn't feel like doing pixelart for all the portraits (pixelart is a lot of work apparently).

It's a bit of a contrast, but I think it's ok. I've seen art in some indie games that was a lot more mismatched than this.

I expected one of the usual porn games, but it seems like this is closer to a Shantae game: horny anime-style HQ art (though more generic than the Shantae series', IMO) laid over a pixel-art metroidvania. Looks at least a bit more serious, though -- and that may or may not be a good thing.

I think the initial game box art may be a bit misleading in that regard.

But once you see the game, while the female characters are somewhat sexualised, I don't think it is done to a greater extent than a lot of other games that are not erotica. I mean, in heroes of might and magic 3, we're treated to some pretty revealing bikini armor hybrid wear in the opening cinematic and that's definitely not an erotic game.

Whether or not you want to make a reflection about the gaming and women's place in it, point is that the art here is not out of norm for non-erotic games (though I'll admit that the game box makes you wonder for a moment if the game is about bdsm or something).

Yeah the high-res portrait art ruins it, and it absolutely looks like it was AI generated.

Now you're being rude. So this game was made entirely by one single person over a period of six years. Everything was hand-drawn. And it plays very, very well. I've been playing for six hours and have only explored a quarter of the game. Do not judge the game by how it looks, throw the CRT filter on it, which looks great - and go about your business. I've finished every single igavania since SOTN and this is the best one I've played since Bloodstained. It is an absolute must for fans of the genre, even it may not be the prettiest - the gameplay is here in spades. Now, there are some bugs that need to be ironed out in a 1.0 but they will be. So far, I like this more than Chronicles Of The Wolf and that was a tough bar to pass. Both are solo Spanish developers.

This is a very serious game and you'll get destroyed on the nornal difficulty. After the prologue you start at level one and one bone from one skeleton will take massive amounts of damage. In fact, there's nothing even remotely pornographic about this game. It can be a very, very, painful experience though and on normal it turns Castlevania into Hollow Knight.

Guy developed this game for six years by himself. He may have used it, but he also may not have used it. If he had the money to pay an artist for 75 tracks, he probably paid an artist for the portrait and CG art in the game as well. I've seen nothing that looked AI.

I have a gameplay video too for the normal mode so you can see exactly how tough it can be: https://youtu.be/CSZKXRWKGZE?si=AIPRR34Iv9xYj0c8

Games are a visual medium. How they look is a crucial part of the experience. I've got well over three hundred gameplay hours worth of backlog, awesome old games to replay and over 140 games waiting their turn on my wishlist. I do not need to make allowances. More than that - I downright need to picky.

Well, if you like these kinds of games and you are honestly letting the art be the thing that holds you back from playing one of the best classic style Castlevania games in recent memory, then you are doing yourself a disservice. I have a larger backlog than you could ever imagine (try hundreds of thousands of hours) and I put that all on hold because this game actually managed to hold my attention. I'm picky too. This one's extremely worth it. Again, I posted a gameplay video. Watch that, tell me what you think.

Oh and I'm not done. There is no game on your wishlist even remotely like this. No Metroidvania that we have ever gotten that is like this. Out of all the ones we have released, this is the only game like classic igavania on GOG that isn't Bloodstained. Many of the others are all souls and such. This is the real deal.

Quite the contrary, I don't really care for metroidvanias, and it takes something like the nice art of Feudal Alloy or Guacamelee to grab my interest.

Well, then why would you care to comment on a game that isn't even in your wheelhouse? You know, every time I see a game I don't like, I'm gonna comment something negative on it as well. Which means every RTS, every simulation game and every freaking soulslike/roguelike title and all deck builders.
