Tokyo Clanpool is a dungeon RPG where you’ll take your party of heroines deeper and deeper into the tower to counter the monster threat and learn the truth of its origin. Equip Digiskins to customize characters’ skills and abilities while navigating mazelike corridors in first-person perspective. Turn-based combat is fast and strategic, and with your team’s ether-based powers, you can even float or dig tunnels to alter the structure of dungeons.

VanishedOne: Someone at GOG remains willing to promote eroge. The latest e-mail newsletter is 'Adults Only: Huge Discounts on Top Erotic Visual Novels!'
Not sure it means something "good". It could be the last meal short time before Zanmatou. Kinda like a hunter providing the last meal to a deer around the moment some other entity is going to eat it. I do recommend to prepare yourself and better backup your stuff before it could be to late. There are other sites able to take over the gape GOG and Steam may soon create, yet it surely is a loss because it is making things more complicated, in this term less approachable by a lot of people potentially interested. Tokyo Clanpool, without an "main game site" may even become wiped completely, as it is probably not an option offering it on some very small sites. So, in this case it will be commercially ruined and i do feel sorry for the publisher but it can not be helped. Best is simply to buy it rather sooner than later and hopefully the uncensor patch might become available. However... if just very few gamers are gonna buy it, they may not even do that work anymore... it is sad.

Someone even said "GOG is refusing to host the uncensor patch for this game", but thats what most of the gamers who are actually interested into this game want, so their voice is not heard. There is simply some "higher force" making decisions for the customers and the shops as well... it is kinda incapacitation of adults. So, whats happening here i do consider with a bigger scale than just if someone is pro or con-adult-material (in many cases not even porn, rather erotics or nudity)... thats not the true scale of whats happening here. On Steam many users say "they have been set up a dangerous precedent". Because if they could just wipe certain games "at their fingertips dependable on current mental condition... who says it can not happen to any other settings?". What those people truly want, however... is not morals... it is control and might.

I still consider the chance realistic for a off-site patch but the date could be delayed; not sure it will be July and so far nothing appeared.

Besides: In case of "Zanmatou"... the coins are the matter because Zanmatou got a certain price and the ones able to pay the right price may either get it or avoid it. Time will tell and time is as well a big factor able to surpass the price because time got a even higher value than sheer coins. Either pay the price or try to survive using sufficient time.

Xeshra: I only got "Ideology in Friction" from Kagura Games, not even sure how i got it, i guess i had some coins left at some point and found the art interesting. However... the technical aspect was so terrible, bad picture quality on a 1080P screen (totally washed out), no gamepad support, not even a mouse is supported. It is just rubbish so i had to remove this game from my collection. In theory this game should be one of the "better" games but yeah... i was not able to enjoy it. I guess most games they offer are about this level or even less... not really a quality game, sadly.

However... there are always exceptions: I heard "Pray Game" and "Demons Roots" could be something suitable and probably the best games they got to offer. Unfortunately as well not free... especially Pray Game is 20 hard Swiss coins for me, so i do expect a enjoyable experience.
Kagura Games just picks the tops sellers from DLsite and other sites, you won't find consitency because they're made by different people, some were released in 2013 (that's why the resolution is hilariously low) and others in 2020... it's just all over the place and you have to some homework

And even among the top sellers, some are "good" for what they are within the niche, while others (like Demons roots) have like 17k 5 stars reviews lol

(sorry about the off-topic!)
The verdict simply is: Even Kagura Games got some golden eggs which could be appreciated by more than just a few gamers. I would be missing 2 games if i did not watch out for its quality, instead just judge the books by its cover.

Another thing i noticed: In many cases this publisher is doing lot of work trying to create a good video, while many publishers barely care and are providing the cheapest trailer they are able to find.

For what it's worth Kagura does put in effort to marketing and to make the port as clean as possible in english, even going so far as removing the mosaic and that usually entails asking permission from the original Japanese dev or acess to the uncensored art from him, and Japanese are usually very cautious about giving permission to handle anything to publishers from overseas.
Still no uncensor patch from the publisher of Clanpool. I had a slight hope it may still happen but it seems those asking for have to bite the bullet.

Not sure if GOG would take down the game if they gonna provide it but GOG could become troubles with some payment-companies, i assume.

The entire situation is kinda hilarious because stuff that was "acceptable" many years ago is now considered not acceptable anymore. In fact the first Mary Skelter had the same "minigame" inside and the second title, Mary Skelter 2 was now slowly going into censorship but there was still a uncensor-patch available.

The third Marky Skelter Finale, now finally had the minigame removed during development, so there is nothing that could be restored, it is simply not anymore "allowed" on the "modern society"; as they see it.
https://censorship.fandom.com/wiki/Mary_Skelter_Finale
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlQ0H136nJ0&t=226s

Mary Skelter 2 was completely banned in Australia, even in a censored version. It is not a miracle if certain "activists" are coming from this territory. Australian can not legally buy or play this game as it seems, it is banned by the state.

Tokyo Clanpool was a title from "another age" which has been re-released during a time this sort of stuff is already not allowed anymore in "modern society", that is the issue here. At least that has been told by a sufficiently big force. There is not any effect on the society by releasing it because the truth is, those games are affecting such a huge minority.. fighting them is like going against a windmill which is located elsewhere but not related to those games.

Some more insight about the entire matter:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WfE9S8rclc

Sure, i would get what is "left" because not sure there is still a (not to far) future for quality-made games of the same kind, this age could be over. In that term, yes those extremists may have won "the battle" but not alone, it was just "the tip of the mountain" they was basically reflecting, backed up by a in general hostile "base" against any type of this sort of "expressions".

On the same term... even Kagura Games, at least on GOG, was probably biting the dust, as it was probably considered to risky for GOG still dealing with. We could argue that they only had rather few quality games, but i think it is not right judging about because the taste is simply different for everyone. Some gamers still value it and this should be respected, even if just a very tiny minority. Still, for GOG it was probably "not worth the troubles"; the risks very high and the income rather small. On Steam it seems Kagura Games is still able to release games but no one knows for how much longer, they have to be careful now.

The irony: Any nation with citizens claiming it has respect for freedom of speech; then bans a video game for any reason. >_>

Who knows how long Kagura will last. Visa and Mastercard won't process their payments. Their only payment option is Paypal. Once Paypal gets uppity, Kagura won't have any way to receive payment. It's all a shitshow. Seen the exact same thing happen with other adult websites. I think that unfortunately, Kagura Games' days are numbered unless something changes with the censorship of payment processors.

Still annoyed at Gog for not allowing DLCs for games that are already here.

It can cause problems. On itch, there's a DLC for a visual novel that I've played that I cannot purchased by credit card all because there's also a free optional adult content update that is also on the DLC's page. Because this update is only on the itch page, the DLC can still be purchased on Steam.

The problem for Tokyo Clanpool is where could they put such a patch without it causing payment issues. If it is anywhere at all on a storefront that sells Tokyo Clanpool, it will cause payment issues for that storefront specifically. If it is on the homepages for either the developer or publishers, it becomes a problem for every storefront.

I have played both Mary Skelter games, and that touching girls mini game really is such a small potion and adds nothing to the game's overall experience. I wouldn't avoid purchasing this game over it.

Yes, I realize that I'm setting myself up for "censorship bad" replies.
I don't think this is a hell worth dying on.
On itch they only use Paypal for whatever reason. It is not known to me that any other payment-company was banning them.

On GOG and Steam every payment options still seems to work, or at least i am able to pick them, but it surely can be risky to them.

They can put it on my PC, i will be fully responsible for the effects caused to me... i hope those "hags" or whatever i may meet will be meeting me as soon as i am providing it, else i would be disappointed.

Well, for whatever reason, those activists want to fight for it until their very last day... it seems... just for something as trivial such as a small mini game on a game only perhaps 50k gamers may ever play. It looks like intolerance on a completely new scale.

The fight is not over yet but those payment companies are megacorps, they could "go away" with almost everything.

Oh, and nope... i still do not own Tokyo Clanpool because i generally avoid censored games, so i rather enjoy the comparable titles able to be played uncensored.

You can still purchase things on itch with credit cards if there's no adult content or free patches for adult content. I bought one of those $10 bundles with lots of games in it earlier this month because it included Sokobond Express, which costs more than $10 when bought on its own.

The visual novel that I ran into this with is A Date with Death. You can purchase everything related to it with a credit card, except for the Beyond the Bet DLC because it has a free adult content patch.

I have to cut this short and go pick up a prescription for one of the cats.
Crazy, so those credit card companies was banning "adult content"?
Well, they was not able to bring it down, because since they was announcing it i was buying twice the amount of adult content. Previously i was just marginally interested... now i consider it important "backing them up".
Looks like Kagura Games is back. I guess all that talk and interviews about resisting censorship wasn't just talk. Hopefully they host the Tokyo Clanpool patch and bring in the missing Kagura DLCs too!

Too early to celebrate, afaik, these games were already scheduled to be released, no more games are allowed by GOG or being submitted forth by Kagura.

And it's not just straight up 18+ content, borderline stuff is also banned, according to a twitter post HobbyJapan a online store to import japanese items like figurines, is ALLEGEDLY(Not confirmed), being pressured to stop selling riské items like figurines by VISA/Mastercard, what is confirmed is that they are, indeed, ceasing to sell such items.

Edit: It's not HobbyJapan, it's Hobby Link Japan. Am I allowed to post twitter links?

Edit 2:
HobbyLink Japan
@hobbylink
Update: Some of you may have noticed that the 18+ section has gone missing from our website.

Existing preorders from before this change will continue to be fulfilled. We hope to share a detailed update with you about the future of this genre of products as soon as possible.

It seems like they are releasing some more games now; although the games released are probably indeed already "being schedulded" on GOG, so they already had a working contract going on. In other words: Not sure they got any new contract so far.
