Time for a beautiful real-time strategy game: The Hive is now out on GOG, alongside its Soundtrack and in a Bundle of both titles! That’s not all though; because you can get all these with a -50% launch discount until September 15th, 1 PM UTC!

The Hive is a single-player RTS RPG that puts you in charge of an insectoid hive mind. Your mission is to venture into the sprawling underworld, teeming with threats and forgotten civilizations, as you make your way toward the surface. Do you have what it takes to survive?

Now on GOG!
Never heard of this game befor and description alone looks curious. Reminds me some other games using similar ideas...

GOG.com: Release: The Hive
[...] a beautiful real-time strategy game
The setting itself seems to be refreshingly unorthodox. But RTS isn't really my genre.
Also: the trailer could show a bit more actual gameplay.
Thanks for releasing it here, but what are the system requirements?
Looks intriguing - Wishlisted.

If it's "pausable" and you can give orders while paused - I'll likely give it a go.

But, as I get older (senior citizen here) I find it too hectic to play pure Real Time (I used to really enjoy it in earlier years).

That's why I Wishlisted it instead of putting it into my cart.

(I've noticed some "pausable" real-time games note that fact on the game card - but others that have it don't mention it. This one doesn't say - which means "maybe no / maybe yes". Will check more later...

Thanks. It wasn't there before on the game page, I mean when I wrote that message.
Buying the game DRM-free on Humble Bundle or itch.io gives us access to a native Linux build.

Why is it not available when buying the game from GOG?

Another dev said he would release the Linux version only on itch.io because GOG has no Linux API.
That could mean that Linux versions have to be managed manually as Zip files here, but I don't know if it's true.

Last I heard most Linux users don't care about native Linux builds. Thanks to steam proton.

Linux users didn't care about the linux versions made of shitty eon wrappers (basically a dxvk-like implementation but for opengl) that ran very poorly and with compatibility issues.
Now a legit native linux version with vulkan on top is always preferable.
