What an ending! and of course some people had to survive!

I do wonder, do the books cover more about the Marsian uhm discoveries that only touched the surface in the season 6?

Another surprise was the discovery of being able to stream BSG (2004) on Prime. Last i checked i was quite certain this series was behind a paywall. Of course i had to watch the first episode right away \o/
It's a nice thing to be able to have acces to a complete show this way.
The other option would have been to buy the blue rays and a player of course. A decent player comes at a price of around 200 euro's. And that discovery raised the immediate question of the wisdom in buying a PS5 :D
purchasing a internal BR player for the pc and streaming to the TV would of course also been another option, though i'm not sure about the includement of the upscaling features those stand alone BR players are advertized with

I never read the books but I know that each season covers one book and there are more books available than seasons. They just decided to end it here with the TV series.

If I remember correctly, the last three books (7-9) take place some 30 years in the future (that's to say: 30 years after the end of book #6 - which is also the end of the show).

And while I would have loved the TV series to cover all books...I can also understand, that the necessity to age all (surviving) characters for the remaining (two/three?) seasons, couldn't really be seriously considered.

Speaking of surviving characters - the TV show altered the original story in that regard in season 5 ("needed to", due to RL events), so - after some point, the books and the TV series were no longer going parallel.

I'm happy with what I got from the series.
In both its forms - the books and the TV show.

If you're into reading Sci-Fi, you should definitely do that.
They're absolutely worth a read.
