toxicTom: No quick-travel except for "in game" - meaning you can go by boat or "creature" and you have spell that can teleport you - but no "open the map, select destination, and you're there".
In my humble opinion, it should have stayed that way in both Oblivion & Skyrim. I hated quick travel in both games because after 50-60 hours I gave in and used it and I think it spoiled the sense of exploration.. :P
Bethesda is finally here, yeeey!

Pros: GOG peeps can now enjoy Morrowind, probably the best RPG ever made.
Cons: The price for Morrowind is ridiculously high. Arena and Daggerfall should be FREE to everyone, not just those who buy something from available Bethesda games.

Vythonaut: Anyway, keep in mind that the series require much free time to fully enjoy them, unless you're the "main quest and uninstall" type of gamer.
^^That's true... I spent around ~250 hours in MW (plus expansions), ~400 in Oblivion (plus Shivering Isles) and another ~300 in Skyrim.
I might need to replay some Morrowind. Illuminated Order of Invisibles, Beyond Ysgramor, Suran Underworld.

Damn.
All those regionally priced rules really get on my nerves. On top of the general principles of such prices, not knowing if one particular game will get it or not among software from the same publisher... is really nerve wracking...

But hey, Bethesda, right?

I resisted both in Oblivion and in Skyrim. Except for "rearranging my stuff between my different houses". Skyrim has the carts and some boats for in-game travel. I even used the Scenic Cart mod to (sometimes) even play out the getting transported around. The drivers sometimes had interesting things to say about some landmarks you passed - the voice was in the game's files, so obviously this really was a planned feature not finished.

I resist now in Witcher 3. I even ride to the border of the map to trigger "travel to a different region".

And flying magic. The later games don't have flight, which I suspect is because flight makes it much harder for the designers to control where the player can go.

You are correct that it's the most interesting of the TES games, both in plot and in setting. It feels like a unique fantasy world, whereas Skyrim felt very formulaic in comparison. (I like Oblivion second best, but I'm clearly in the minority there.)
Dunnn, Dun, Dunnn... Dun, Dunnn... Dun, Dunnn...

The later games had the problem that the cities were separate areas, loading triggered by activating the gates. So they couldn't handle the player character levitating over the wall.

Yeah... my crazy Telvanni battle mage in women's clothes and heavy armor - (perma-)hovering over the Grazelands picking flowers via (perma-)Telekinesis while ignoring monsters raging 30 feet below...
Really? Serious? Somehow I knew GOG would release a bunch of my favorites when I had no way to get them. *Sigh* I've been hoping for Morrowind for years. And now it's finally here, Quake and Doom classics too? Bad enough Grandia II was brought here too and I can't get it either. My wishlist grows.
20€ for Morrowind is a rather ridiculous price considering that the GOTY editon was in the stores for years for 10€.
And now the digital version is somehow "worth" twice as much?

uh, thanks, I pass. That's just a shameless money grab.

Did Sachys damage your memory core at some point? No rational robot would come to such a dreadful conclusion. >.>

[url= Honestly, I might like it better than Skyrim if it weren't for the uncanny valley with the faces. Same reason I can't stand Alan Wake, which by all accounts is an excellent game - the faces are nightmare fuel. But mechanics-wise? It's almost as good as Daggerfall, and doesn't have Daggerfall's astonishing "occasional content mixed in with the bugs" syndrome. ][/url]
As I understand it, you can play Morrowind in third person view, but is it actually a viable way to play the game? From what I've read, it seems there are serious issues. Any thoughts comments on that?
With price of 30€ Morrowind went directly in my wishlist. Hope that autumn sale reduce price a bit:)
