The Dream Machine is now available DRM-free. Get it 60% off until March 19th, 4pm UTC.

The Dream Machine is a point & click adventure game made out of clay and cardboard.
You play as Victor and Alicia, a couple who've just moved into a new apartment. While trying to get settled in, they soon discover that all is not as it seems in the quiet, unassuming apartment building...

PixelBoy: Well, there's a philosophical question: is the real release date when it first emerged in any form, or when it was completed?

Another tough question is, owning half of the chapters on Steam, does it make more sense to buy what is missing and complete the game on Steam, or buy it on GOG and pay for the episodes which I already have twice?
I guess you could say it has a release period, which is the span from the first part being release and the last part.

As for rebuying, the way I looked at it is that the 60% off more than covers the proportion of the game I already owned.

jorlin: I own this on Steam, since 2014. Probably the release date mentioned by GOG is a bit off.
have it on steam ... bought the first part and they ahd an option to buy all , the remaining parts would them be downloadble after release, i choose that option, so the game is quite old....
took a little while to arrive here....

Anyway saving cash for new setup so... on the wishlist it goes ... havent bought anything lately e xcept the latest HOG ( artifex) and Diablo but that wont run so maybe it might run on my new machine ( which i doubt)

Wishlisted since I'm totally OOM currently. Would have instabought otherwise.
Glad it found it´s way to GOG :)

I remember playing the former, web browser version. I actually got pretty far, finished the first part out of the three.
Then it went on a back-burner and other thing took precedence.

Will gladly buy and finish it one day :)
I paid full price for The Dream Machine in 2011 (before all the episodes were out), from the website (because it wasn't on any other platforms at the time IIRC) and eventually played the first three episodes and part of the fourth. I never got to finish the game because the game's website, which is horrible, and 100% in Flash, somehow broke and stopped loading on my old PC. I got a new PC a couple years ago, and have been able to get onto the site again since then, but the game's site is STILL Flash-based, and still extremely broken in that it says it times out whenever I try to log in, which I've tried to do a couple times in the past few years.

Supposedly anyone who bought the game on the website is entitled to a Steam key, but I do not like or use Steam, and haven't been able to log into the website for seven years anyway, so I long ago gave up on actually finishing the game, which is a shame because what I played of it was nice. Maybe now I'll finally get to finish it? I feel pretty shafted though, and hell if I'm actually going to pay any money for the game again. I'll probably try to email the devs later I guess and see if I can get a GOG key from them.
So do I have to throw vegetables at an oversized toad?

Oh, neat! It looks like the Neverhood, except not made by a crackpot!
claymation? point and click? 60 percent off? insta bought
Looks great, well, just like most clay made art does!

Lucumo: Hm...
They have updated the developer and publisher now, but apparently the release date and more essential the discount got lost in that update...
As far as I know this game doesn't have the achievements even on Steam, can anyone confirm that the game card is wrong?
