Apologies. I thought that "Sanctuary" tv-series was well-known enough.

Oh, wow there's a TV series. Would you recommend it? Is there a proper progression to the story, or is it just the typical episodic affair, with the occasional connections between several episodes, and the always present cliffhanger between the seasons?

I reached the point where I don't have the time to invest in episodic series, which is why I ask.

EDIT: And apparently it's starring Amanda Tapping, aka Sam from Stargate, which I liked even though it was an episodic series. I might give it a try.

Meh at both. I am more of a Rasputin man myself.
A Rasputin game would suck! It would be like waltzing through the whole thing in God Mode. Nothing could kill you!

Unless the objective is to play as the Villain. Then it would be awesome. Least till they come armed with multiple guns.

But in the meantime, you'd get to be Russia's greatest love machine.

Pretty sure that role is already taken.

justanoldgamer: I'm not into frantic shooters but I might get this one.
I'm also not a fan of twin stick shooters, but this one is really nice. :)

Pretty much. Though, since each season have less episodes than usual 26, there are far less "filler episodes" and story arcs develop quite tightly.
I suck at twin-stick games and skipped the previous ones by these folks (and genre mostly in general), but picked this one up because it looked fun. And by golly, it sure is fun! The evening flew by with my husband and I playing this coop, me keyboard+mouse, him with a controller. Great fun power-ups, fun enemies, neat levels, and, best of all, great pacing.
+1
bought, tested, it's quite fun but one should be aware that the game has a decent luckinfluence
My husband and I played through it this weekend co-op, the 3 difficulties [we didn't try infinite mode that unlocks, with the DLC, after that], and had a great time. Totally worth it! A couple levels got so absurd with power-ups that we literally couldn't see where we were unless we stopped shooting.

The difficulty was perfect for us: enough to keep us on our toes and kept up with the increase in power as we went, but not so bad we ever felt totally frustrated. Well, there was one level that I think we only got because of a random perk we got, but, it also could have been practice for that level, since we had already lost it 5 times we started selecting different perks and adjusting routes.

Different levels did require different tactics and favor different weapons/perk choices depending on the foes on that stage or (to a much lesser extent) the map layout.

Note 1: The one review mentions need to grind to get all the "unlocks". Just playing through naturally, with very few repeats, we got a great deal of the power-up unlocks. (These are things like "start level with an extra perk" or "always have 10% more health". They're global, persistent power-ups.) Once you get to the 2nd difficulty they come at a good pace, and pretty rapidly at the 3rd. (You can afford a few on the 1st difficulty.) The "daily" quest (loaded from the Internet I guess?) is extra, about equivalent to 2 levels on the 3rd difficulty in reward.

Note 2: Works fine with one player on keyboard+mouse. Additional players have to use controller.

Note 3: I had to use an external screenshot utility; I didn't find an in-game screenshot key, and Windows' Print Screen didn't capture the game window.

Note 4: The achievements in the game all come naturally from play and, for once, don't make one resign to degenerate game play were one an achievement-hound.

Note 5: Fuck fire vampires!

Note 6: We definitely plan to go back and try this company's older products. We're on to playing X-Morph now.
