Braggadar: Devs, don't string out gameplay with overuse of dialogue. Initially Bone Totem was paced well, but when you hit Chapter 4 you start to get areas where unnecessarily drawn-out dialogue frustrates a player wanting to continue playing apace

Ancient-Red-Dragon: SargonAelther earlier in this thread recommended I should try playing Stasis 1, and then I noticed it's in my library although I don't remember how it got there (whether it was a free giveaway or I bought it sometime years ago, I have no clue).

Then I looked at the storepage for Stasis 1 and I notice it doesn't advertise voice-acting as one of its selling points.

Then I looked at video reviews of Stasis 1 and I didn't see any voice-acting in them either.

So when I think about which game I would much rather play, between the (apparently) voice-acting-deprived Stasis 1, versus this new Stasis game which apparently has a lot of good voice-acting in it, then I'd much rather play the newer Stasis game since the voice-acting makes it much more appealing.
Stasis 1 is fully Voice acted though, so don't let that dissuade you.

However the general idea of Stasis 1 is that you wake up from... stasis, in some weird abandoned space ship, so there's hardly anyone to talk to though. When there is someone or something to talk to, it is voiced. Sometimes the character will react out loud too, but he's not insane, so he won't be speaking to himself constantly either. Text logs are obviously not voiced, because they're text logs. Cayne has "someone" you talk to frequently though.

I used to think that I wouldn't like point and click adventure games, until I played Stasis. I like horror games, so I thought maybe I'll at least partially like Stasis, but I ended up loving it and decided to give more point and click games a chance. I have played all the Syberia games afterwards too, thanks to Stasis 1 and Cayne.

I've bought Bone Totem, but I've not had a chance to play it yet, but I'm sure I'll like it too.

General tip for many point and click games: Single click means walk, double click means run.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: I disagree. I'd much rather be listening to tons of voice-acting in a point and click adventure game rather than "playing" it, "playing" which amounts to trying to solve annoying puzzles which is rarely to never fun or enjoyable, although listening to good voice-acting is both.

Braggadar: I tell you what, play Totem and get back to me then. There's a limit to what I call good use of dialogue and what I call overuse which affects pacing. Totem's dialogue is good, don't get me wrong, it just needed to be tightened up in places so it's not unwelcome.
I finished the game and I was blown away by the scale and emotional impact it was able to make on me. I am pretty sure that a big part of this impact is due to the amazing voice over (btw: the German localisation - text only - is extremely well done and I only spotted 3-4 wrong lines in the complete pretty text heave game which I already forwarded to the devs. Yes, there were a few moments in which I had to wait for the interactive area to appear but in most cases I was able to move during the dialogues. The game obviously is not designed to be rushed at all anyway. Like in previous games they included optional decriptions of all the places and the logs were in most cases optional at well ... both however increased immersion for me even though they stopped the game for me much more than the dialogues ever did.

However I think this is a subjective thing and nothing one could call a general flaw. Take i.e. "The Longest Journey". I absolutely love this game but everybody who played it will agree that it has extremely long doialogues which will stop gameply for a pretty long time completely. These dialogues are well done and perfectly voice acted so I don't have a problem with them and I enjoy the pause from puzzle solving they give me but I am aware that there are people out there as well who don't enjoy them and would rather want a faster pacing.

You never got the feeling at times that the plot often insisted on sounding urgent but you were stuck waiting for someone to finish their broken and heavy-breathing laden dialogue? Like I said, it's useful to have dialogue like this (it's impactful and well voiced), but there were times for me where the fact it paused or slowed their progress broke the realism. Yes, you can still walk around, but if you reach the "end" of the area before the dialogue ends you can't progress to the next area. If it was so important that we be allowed to walk during such dialogue, maybe ensure we cannot physically reach the end of the current scene by turning off running, and/or make the room much larger. That way we're not standing around at any point unless we want the character not to move.

But you're right, it's subjective. I often get frustrated with horror films doing the same thing. If the plot demands the situation is urgent, then I'd expect the characters to be treating it accordingly. Ergo no time to wait chatting over the comms. KEEP MOVING.
It's awesome to see another Brotherhood game here, as I loved the previous ones. How do I claim the Supporter Pack as a gift? After purchasing the base game the DLC is only available as a regular purchase, I see no claim button.

Yeah, in many cases horror and logic are not really a good fit. :)

Normally it shoul say "free" on the gamecard. If that is not the case it could be that GOG already ended the offer even though - if I am not mistaken - it is not yet 5pm UTC. You should probably make a screenshot of the purchase date and time (confirmation mail) and contact support.
