Now if only CapCom would re-release their 3DFX Resident Evil 1-3 ports. Wishful thinking.
Regarding GOG's strange (spooky?) silence about whether this version includes the previously-missing PC hauntings. Anyone got a response from GOG support?

One comment online suggested it's a glitch in the PC SH4 code that disables them but that they are still in the game's code, just deactivated. Apparently "one guy managed to Hex edit the game to re-enable them but someone needs to patch the .exe to enable them permanently. This to say that it's possible to fix. Now it's either the community that will do it or we will see an official patch on GOG which is unlikely."

kdgog: Regarding GOG's strange (spooky?) silence
You really think getting silence from GOG when you ask a question in their forum is a strange thing? ;)

This is the only horror release so far on this the month of Halloween. Was also an instant buy for me when I saw it. Cheers gog. I really hope more survival horror will come. Some less heard of greats like Cold Fear or Obscure 1 and 2 preferably the latter with their soundtracks. Thanks for remembering Halloween.
I asked GOG whether any of the tweaks they'd done for this release included the tweak to restore the hauntings that had apparently been disabled (but are present in the code, and apparently restored by one person) by a glitch. This is the reply, for info:

"Hello,
I'm afraid that GOG support is not the best source to ask about gameplay related questions. For such please reach the game's official support.
We are aware of the discussion regarding "hauntings" and we are investigating the topic. As for now we can't promise anything. If the GOG game will be updated we will provide update as soon as possible.
Regards,
GOG.com"
So, what does the Taiwanese ratings board have to say about tomorrow's Konami release? Another Silent Hill? More Metal Gear? A surprise Lords of Shadow Trilogy?

Come on the rest of Silent Hill. You know you want to Konami & GOG. You can't just release 4 and not give us the other PC Silent Hill games.
I wouldn’t mind if GOG and Konami found and released that PC port of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night that was rated by the ESRB 6 years ago or so, if that wasn’t just a fluke.

I'd be cool w/ that, for sure.
Also, that isn't even in the Castlevania Steam Collection.

So, yeah - please Konami, bring Symphony of the Night to PC and GOG.

I'm expecting those to headline the Halloween sale
By the way, why isn´t SH4 on sale? I payed ten euros for the retail version back then. I don´t feel like paying another ten for the digital one.
I'm still playing the game (for the first time) and loving it.
Still, I don't like the genre Survival Horror. I feel the same way about the Resident Evil games. There's a lot to like, but I don't care about those gameplay mechanics that make you FEAR "wasting your time by having to play parts over again" (a.k.a. limited saving) or force you to revisit areas for no good reason (a.k.a. small inventory). The latter instils that first fear again when enemies respawn.

Ah well, SH4 has enough redeeming qualities, and it's not that bad if you play it on easy.
ok, it's not available on korea, huh?
disappointed.
