Choose from four stories, in any order, and discover how they intertwine in this turn-based RPG – Quartet is now available on GOG!

A series of train robberies leads to evidence of a government conspiracy. A mysterious deck of cards gives a young girl a vision of another world. A fleet of deadly airships burns a path across the Imperial frontier. The world’s unlikeliest hero manifests tremendous magical power. These stories intertwine in the world of Quartet. Before it is all over, the eight heroes will uncover how a secret, centuries-old conflict literally reshaped the world. Then they will have their own decision to make about the destiny of magic.

Now on GOG!
I've not tried this, but I have heard good things about this one.
Sounds a bit like Octopath Traveler.
This one is going on the wishlist while I sort out what I'm buying next.
I shall be applying great scrutiny to this one with a heavy consideration of purchase.

But those fonts. Hopefully there's a setting to use normal fonts. (Normal fonts alongside pixel graphics works best, as long as the game isn't actually running at low resolution -- which almost none actually do.)
I would like to have original price 0 € back for this game :P

If there's one thing that immediately ruins pixel art games for me it's when the assets are not running in uniform resolution, so this game using a low resolution font actually makes me significantly more interested.

I won't lie, having a hippo in your party is kinda cool... but not cool enough to offset these NES graphics and deformed anime characters.
https://www.gog.com/en/game/forge_of_the_fae Forge of Fae is certainly more advanced with its graphics while still offering a retro-like experience, which is the thing those interested into those games should be looking out for. The only drawback is: That game is not available yet while "Quartet" can be gotten NOW. Close to 20 USD is not a bargain, i am not gonna lie... but in the end, if it is able to create up to 30 hours of fun gameplay it might be worth it for many gamers.

Well, that reviewer said many good stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wU48Ghoe6o8

There's no reason to suffer through low-rez fonts in the modern era. There's no lost art style to having a good font with pixel everything else. Fonts are a different beast than anything else in the game.

Like I said, I'll give them a pass if they're actually running at that resolution -- but few do. (And I'd still grumble about the assault on my eyes.)
I can not say if the resources available are at a appropriate quality level for this game, as the compression is usually always producing losses = lack of a crispy picture.

However... if it is comparable to "Starlight Legacy" which probably comes closest to the tech-count, then it would be OK. Starlight Legacy is OK for me, and i do not enjoy blurry stuff at all.

Thats why i usually post some pictures that are either with low or no compression, so the full quality, rarely seen on videos, can be seen.

I am not currently planning on buying that game (remember, the price asked is always at the top for me) and i currently got more "stressing" priorities... i simply can not have it all. If anyone got it... a full quality picture can be useful.

Forge of the Fae is currently planned for 2027, it won't be out for at least another year and a half.

Game looks interesting.

The approach reminds me a bit of Dragon Quest 4 a bit, except with the ability to choose the order in which you play the 4 stories.

Nothing looks like NES. If NES could do this there wouldn't have been a SNES.
Looks nice.
