Of Ash And Steel is an immersive third-person open-world RPG – and it’s now available on GOG!

Explore the lands of a once-prosperous island, hone your combat skills, and survive in the unforgiving realm of the Kingdom of the Seven. Learn to stand up for yourself using different combat stances, environments, and active skills. Tailor your fighting style to suit you, from the agile rapier wielder to a heavy armour-clad knight, or create something unique!

Now on GOG!
There it is, thanks Fire & Frost, tinyBuild & GoG.
Looks pretty good, except for all the tedious crafting which I hope can be ignored, and the "no marker system, and quests won't lead you by the hand. Rediscover the joy of exploration and let curiosity be your guide" part. I'll rediscover the joy of not knowing where the flock to go the day I rediscover the joy of having unlimited free time.
Nice. Faster than Steam too. Ha!

How do you feel about Morrowind style quests, where you get detailed yet vague instructions? "Go west at the rock formation, then you'll see a tower. Then go north. If you see Dagoth Ur, you've gone too far, you'll need to go east from there. Within the shack, you should find a crate. Inside the crate will be an Argonian."

Since the release was postponed on steam, does this version work or does it contain some kind of horrible technical issue bad enough for them to delay the launch on steam? I'm interested in the game but some transparency would be nice :)

I got fed up with them when one NPC straight up told me to go the wrong way. Literally the opposite. And I think I ultimately quit the game when searching for some place I found myself on a short stretch of road which at two ends had signs pointing to the place I was looking for... each sign pointing in the direction of the other. It was literally this
"Go there--> .....empty damn road....... <--Go there"

To be fair, I had a ton of fun with Morrowind for quite a while, with it's vagueness and freedom and absurdities and everything, but again - that was when I had a lot more free time, so I was more ok with wasting hours here and there on wandering and not making much progress. Even so, I did sometimes look stuff up on a map online, though I tried to keep that to absolute minimum. And even then, like I said, eventually it did tire my out before ever got to the end.

I don't like excessive handholding, but these days I'd much rather have a quest marker than waste hours, or have to look stuff up online.

Game seems to tick all the boxes. Definitely something I'd enjoy, wish listed for now.
They say "Treasure"
I say "RX 5700 XT"
They say "Min sys req"
I say "Erm"

Inspired by trailer+store page.
I watched both trailers and the dev video, and I have to say, this is how you release a game on any platform. Well done!

There's a lot of Gothic/Risen vibes here (both games I really enjoyed), yet plenty of differences and of course, it looks even more fun. Glad the game also has magic, just the way I like my fantasy type RPGs. :)

Someone mentioned a newsletter code for this. If I have enough wallet balance after the code, this may be a day one purchase. This first in a very long time. (though I was incredibly tempted by Monsters are Coming! Rock & Road also lol)

Thank you GOG team for your efforts and thank you Fire & Frost / tinyBuild teams for releasing this amazing looking game here.
.
Edit: Game page also says "45 hours of main story, packed with dialogue, well-developed characters, books, and side quests.". Which usually translates to double the time for people who take their time like me lol. Really good to hear it's not a short game.

Edit 2: Sadly, the wallet is a tiny bit short even calculating the newsletter discount. Wishlisted for now.

Thank you fot the realease! Much obliged.
Aside from the completely wild facial-animations, it does look interesting... nice price too.
