What will you do with a drunken whaler early in the morning?

Nantucket is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com and it's 10% off until January 25, 5PM UTC.
Whales are majestic beasts. Damn-near mythical, by some accounts. But Moby Dick - well, he's another story entirely. As you assume the role of a daring whaler, customizing your crew, charting a course, and trying to score big against the forces of nature or the hazards of seafaring, the pale demon will be waiting for you. Will you conquer the curse that consumed Cpt. Ahab? Or will you drown in it?

That explains what Sid Alpha talks about a lot.
No Simpsons pun yet? Oh, man. :(
Okay. This game is officially kicking my ass. There I was, just following a quest chain for some dumb Hawaiian royalty, and then before I know it, I find myself facing a legendary bow fin whale I'm not equipped to handle. And oh yeah. Three out of six on the harpoon die naturally means I miss about 70% of the time, nevermind the guys with only two. :/

Social Justice Warrior - basically a lot of hot air about meaningless things like the topic of a video game.

The developer can thank the baseless reviews and SJW backlash, their backlash convinced me to buy this game even though I had no interest in it.
This game's difficulty and especially the RNGesus is seriously out of whack. 3 harpoon sides on a 6 sided die means you miss about 90% of the time. I'm trying to enjoy this game, but so far I get more and more demoralized the more this game gets more of my people killed.

Are you hiring harpooner specialists? When hunting sea creatures it helps out a lot - just one level in harpooning adds a special attack to the hunting die. A master harpooner only has one blank side. You also might consider bringing someone other than all hunters on a whale hunt. Craftsman allow you to reroll dice and Science heals. Specialties in the various skills can add more sides to the various dice with special effects.

I've found some luck starting my captain off in science and working him up to bandages(no bleeding) and emergency kit(chance to heal everyone) and then moving on to upping his hunting skills so that he can work alongside my dedicated hunter and swap back and forth between red and green dice. I also farmed the snot out of the narwhal areas and turned down long range delivery or finding missions until I was ready to venture out and towards Honolulu. Pirates are still a pain, and the blue whales of the Pacific kick my ass. But when they go down, it's big bucks city. You just need the space for their blubber. I've worked up to a two star Bermuda Sloop, and the boost to speed really helps.

Thank you, now I not only know what it means, but also what it stands for.
The trailer is really goofy but I guess the harmonies are nice.

I thought the odds of there being a song was related to morale, but sometimes my crew won't kick up a shanty even when spirits are high, and they'll sometimes break out a sad song after a death. The variation in this game is really interesting.
