I heartily recommend reading this article to any Tolkien fans considering a purchase.
I'll wait for a discount.
Great catch GOG! Clean, complete and offline version for the win!

That article is a dumpster fire of whining and unrealistic criticism. Bought the game already. If that article is your attempt to dissuade people from buying the game, then it falls flat.

Rings of Power is where you should dissuade people from watching. That show is a massive bastardization of the lore and a huge dumpster fire.
It's not normal for a release for a game like this to get here without a discount. I guess it has something to do with it possibly being given away for Prime Subscribers today.

Even though, for those who doesn't have Prime and still want to get the game on GOG, this is a bummer. After all, this game is from 2014 and has been discounted on other stores for 75%-80% (or even less), so it should have gotten here with a similar discount.
It's weird that they don't release the game like this with a good exclusive discount, maybe it's because they release the series tomorrow?

At least the game is pretty obvious about not following established lore and doesn't claim to be.

Unlike a certain show that is about to air soon....

Good to see this here. If I ever get around to playing it I'll definitely grab it here to have it DRM free
Wow, this is a surprise.

Yes in terms of lore, this game is not very faithful but you shouldnt really go into this game expecting lore accuracy. Its more like Force Unleashed in terms of lore faithfulness.

Still a great game. Shadow of War could take more time since there are more server-related items and functions such as buying stronger orcs, trainings, and weapons earned from online revenge missions. They can be incorporated into single player imo but would require some tweaking.
The discount isn't going to happen anytime soon.
WB Discovery has to recoup on those 90 million eurodollars for axing the Batgirl film with every opportunity the can after all.

Oh.
The Butchers of Tolkien are finally(back) in town ;)

Not gonna support that but more power for new games.

GOG.com: quite a few great video games.
And at least one bad one. (The Super NES Lord of the Rings game is generally considered to not be that good. They released volume 1, but didn't make volume 2 or 3, to my knowledge, probably because volume 1 didn't do that well.

Oddly enoush, I think we for once have the same opinion about a game.

Imo the SNES Version was one of the better ones concerning LOTR games.
With WB Movies and Games went tottaly downhill.

Damn it and I just bought it on Steam a month ago lol.

Oh well, guess it's time to buy again, cause you know, a GOG copy is a must!

Telika: This game is a good game.

(It's an absolutely shitty representation of Tolkien's poetic universe, as ever, but you can easily forget about the pretend link to the source material, and treat is as a truly excellent arkham-like brawler in a d&d-ish dark fantasy setting.)

TheCleaner517: It's a better representation than the dumpster fire that is Ring of Power.
It doesn't matter. Tolkien is long gone and the next generations will watch and consume whatever they will get served on the plate.
