mrcrispy83: Well, I think the older games had a rank system, so the difficulty and CPU movement speed increased the more you won and decreased when you lost and continued.
Hmm, I don't know if I see that here. You lose 2 (or 3?) times to a character and you just get kicked back to the title screen and have to start all over again. I don't really notice any change in difficulty transferring over to the next game.

In general, it's a series that you would have to move pretty quickly in since there's a big emphasis on reaction chains by queuing up more matches before the first one clears versus building up elaborate combo setups.
Yeah, I'm finding that I can clear the screen and then won't be able to chain anymore because there's nothing to chain. So I have to stop and spam the manual drop to get something to work with. It really kills the pacing, because drop has a small delay which interrupts your chains. The best I can do is pre-emptively spam drop before the screen goes empty to ensure I have something to work with for a while.. but that turns out to be a big mistake if the opponent starts suddenly dropping on you..
