gamesfreak64: So imo WASD being used as a default that cannot be changed is awfull.
Imagine if they were bound to ZQSD and you'll understand our total inability to play such games.
Oh look, another garbage, years-too-late PC port of a Japanese game. I'd be shocked if this weren't standard operating procedure at this point.

Thanks for the reply, i checked it and i had to look and search before i was able to find the keys on my keyboard :D
so i will never be able to use that combination, i have troube with WASD, but this combination would be a mission impossible for me.

Actually, ZQSD is the equivalent of WASD on stupid AZERTY keyboards, mainly used in French-speaking countries. If a game uses WASD and disables key rebinding, you have to create a QWERTY keyboard layout on your OS to make the ZQSD keys act as if they were WASD keys. It's not a "total inability"; it's just slightly annoying.

And AZERTY keyboards are stupid because the punctuation and miscellaneous symbols were placed at seemingly random locations, whereas on QWERTY keyboards, they were cleverly placed in pairs (i.e. opening and closing brackets are next to each other).

I'd gladly advise you to stop throwing "stupid" everywhere (esp. being French apparently - the land of 4-20-10 instead of ninety and where V and W are interchangeable XP). Keyboard layouts don't mean a thing anymore as it hasn't the same limitations as the olde typewriter which had specific layout depending on the language because of all those moving parts.

All that said, hard coding values is a pretty piss poor programming habit and SHOULD be frowned upon.

Meh, "4-20-10" also is stupid (I had to think a little while to finally figure out what you meant by that; reading it in English, I was like "What?"). :P

Keyboard layouts do matter a little bit: if you create a new layout on your OS and switch to it, the keys will effectively have different values, but their physical appearance will stay the same, meaning that it will be rather confusing. I wish I'd known the benefits of a QWERTY keyboard before buying my computer because, since it's a laptop, I cannot easily change my physical keyboard.

But I agree with the fact that hard-coding key values is bad practice.

Yeah I have some issues with one of my pc and I couldn't log to my admin account because it strangely switched to a UK layout while I had it already removed from the list. I dunno, all hail Windows 10. :p

win 10? explains everything, win 10 is pure evil, better call it: the mother of all evil...
Bill Gates started Mickeysoft, but he made an awfull mistake by handing it over to a bunch of incompetent people... i have seen many new CEO, but that dude that is 'ruling' mickeysoft now is really messing things up, i read a few articles he wrote and watched some videos, ieww and ouch... my stomache turned...
Anyway i hope he will be replaced very soon....
