is the leylines game good? I might buy it because it's crystal shard and I liked Heroine's Quest :D
I like the looks of this one. Wishlisted
Glad to see it here finally. :)

According to reviews on St. Elswhere, it has mostly negative reviews. The ratio has been +4/-7 since its release in 2019, which is at least an indication that it probably wasn't exactly a success prior to its sudden arrival on GOG. ;-)

Hmmm, I thought the reviews on Steam were fairly positive last I checked, but looking just now, I have to admit they are pretty negative. :-/

If I remember I'll email the main dev guy and get his viewpoint.
I'd say it looks like a cheap knockoff of Age of Wonders, but it's too expensive for that. :P
Dammit, I made popcorn, sat down comfortably in my armchair - and Breja's nowhere to be seen!
Considering the title of the 2023 news category on the Crystal Shard site and that eight of their games have been released in the other store, I guess this makes Leylines the fourth that was un-rejected by GOG, with potentially four more to go?

Otherwise, Crystal Shard games are generally parodies, homages or otherwise heavily inspired by classics (to the point that I'm thinking that some can't exactly be legally sold, but I may be wrong), so from that point of view this also fits the bill, but Leylines otherwise really seems the odd one out in terms of complexity and ambition behind it, so unsurprising that people tend to be disappointed, as I doubt they can really pull off such an attempt. But something in the vein of the classic AoW trilogy does make me curious, and they have been working at it since 2000...

Interesting that everyone's heavily-inspired-by was Age of Wonders. When I watched the trailer, my internal Master of Magic plopped up. But maybe I'm just too old and simply ignored the old AoWs before they went decently 4X.

To be honest, Age of Wonders was the first game that appeared to be on the same league of fun that Master of Magic was. They promised that it did not feel just like a spreadsheet or war of numbers, and they pretty much delivered. They are worth a revisit.
