Kainga: Seeds of Civilization is now available on GOG with a -20% launch discount (that lasts until April 10th, 1 PM UTC)!

And to make things even better, alongside the base game, you can now also grab its beautiful Soundtrack, Digital Artbook & Wallpapers and Collector's Edition which gathers all of it in a one awesome package!

Kainga: Seeds of Civilization is a unique roguelite-inspired village-builder, but instead of long-winded play sessions, Kainga is played in short 30-90 minute runs, where you complete challenges to keep unlocking new maps, Thinkers and unusual technologies.

The game presents magical lands full of wonder and beauty, where strange other-worldly beasts roam. We take control of a Thinker and grow our village into a thriving civilization, adapting and surviving against all odds. Exploring the world to find sources of inspiration to discover new technologies and choosing the right ones that fit our town's needs, the environment, challenge and our playstyle is the key to success.
Wait what... this game is 150 euros at full price ?

but it's only 25.50 if you take the collector edition :)

I guess somebody at Gog typed an extra "4", and that the full price is 14.99 instead of 144.99

EDIT : It's fixed now :)

Roguelite? Going to have to wait for a bigger discount. Especially since "builder" goals are usually antithetical to "roguelite" goals.
Looks interesting. Parts of it kind of remind me of Populous 3 for some reason. *shrug* Also, Green Man Gaming has a publishing arm now? Weird.

Great minds think alike. ((;--))

Interesting for those with not much time, or when you do not have much time.

I too wonder about this, unless they're counting different intances with random maps and events as roguelite, I don't see how this really works that well.

It's not the first game like that... GOG had (has?) a demo for one I tried that was a city that lets you build until the flood comes, and certain things you do delay the flood. It was just very artificial. Instead of new buildings (etc) unlocking as natural for a builder game, it required you lose to get the roguelite "unlock things for next time" stuff. Your building was seriously hampered by it. I never bothered a second go in the demo because it was clear I wouldn't like it.

There are multiple other games on GOG that have the "building" and "rogueliXe" tags together from the searching, too. I haven't experienced them. There's a demo for Diluvian Winds that seems to follow the same pattern the other demo I tried (but is a sideview builder).

After browsing my library, Against the Storm is the demo I had tried. (Still available.)

I played one on mobile similar to this. Not sure I like having to reset to progress. If it happens, and progression is a little easier, sure. And I'm sure eventually you hit that wall, but to make it so it's a set point (some building options just aren't available until you reset) I'm not sure I like that mentality. Makes me feel like my initial or previous playthroughs are completely pointless.
