Like SpaceChem in 3D!

Infinifactory, a 3D engineering puzzle game, is available now for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Get it now with the 10% launch discount, DRM-free on GOG.com!

You've created incredible machines. You've designed enormous chemical reactors. Now, you're engineering complex factories and systems! From the creators of SpaceChem and Infiniminer (the original block-based sandbox) comes the synthesis of past design experience and tropes. Often described as SpaceChem in 3D and with clear similarities to Redstone engineering in Minecraft and likely to push similar buttons to Kerbal Space Program, Infinifactory presents you with a spacial physics puzzle challenge that says "Here are your inputs, here are your tools. You're on your own." The game follows strict rules and physics while offering the means to design nearly infinite solutions for each puzzle. There's a story here too, if you seek it out - audio logs and scattered corpses of your predecessors present a disturbing narrative that you can ponder on your way back to your cell, or while "enjoying" your daily pellet dinner. With every new day and level you'll be presented with bigger challenges that require more sophisticated structures, and whether you enjoy perfecting the most efficient methods or designing complex systems (sometimes unnecessarily so) - Infinifactory is just about your ideal engineering sandbox.

Infinite solutions, Infinifactory, available now DRM-free on GOG.com. The 10% discount will last for one week, until Friday, July 17, 4:59 PM GMT.
Each of the Zachtronics puzzle games is a totally different beast, you really have to try them to know which one is best for you. I personally found TIS-100 to be incredibly intuitive and elegant, most of Redditkind holds that Infinifactory is the "easy" one as a religious truth.

Infinifactory is kinder than Spacechem on some aspects of timing, much kinder when it comes to packing a solution into a tiny workspace, and harder when it comes to your sync options. Spacechem's arithmetic of harmonics to solve some of the later Fusion puzzles took a lot of napkins to work out, and eventually ground down into a depressing amount of "rip it out and start over" work. I still loved the 70% of Spacechem's campaign that I played, and am very proud of some of my solutions there.

If you're already Minecrafty, then Infinfactory will almost certainly tickle you. This game polishes off some of the rough stuff from Spacechem, has learned to DEFINITELY NEVER AGAIN the boss levels, and has a sensible difficulty curve built with real-user statistics.

Looks pretty cool, but the price is steep. I think I'll wait for a future sale.
I have been waiting for this one, good to see it's finally here.
Here's an interesting video I saw on this game. Not a review, more of an analysis which may help you decide whether or not this game is for you.

Cheers. That video is nicely done (and he appears to have a small series of them: https://www.youtube.com/user/McBacon1337/videos ).
Looks like this would appeal to me, but not at that price.
Great release!
Unfortunately, Zachtronics games with Steamworks taken out are just not as fun.

Global histograms are fine, but nothing beats outperforming your friends list.

Galaxy integration, eventually?

This game is well worth the asked price. I've never played an indie game that is even remotely as good as Infinifactory. Just yesterday I was working on a shuttle engines repair mission and got stuck with the Blocker piston mechanism. IOt just didn't work as I've expected it to work so I've just used Pusher piston instead and with some sensor vizardry, I've achieved even better effect. And I bet, when I'll be replaying this game in the future from scratch, the solutions won't be the same as they were now. And that's the charm. There are countless possibilities if you're able to think outside the box. And this game is fantastic if you love designing and problem solving with "debugging".

This game is one of rare few that doesn't get annoying or frustrating when you get stuck. It just doesn't and that's awesome. Hours will fly by and you'll just be sitting there, fiddling with elements to achieve perfect operation. Amazing game. I have more fun with it than with many AAA titles.

I do agree that missing SteamWorks features slightly cripple this game. You can't compete with friends and lack of Steam Cloud saving kinda ruins it. I love Steam Cloud because you can be sure savedata is safely stored. Keeping an eye on safe files on local disk can quickly turn into loss of complex solutions. But still, if you prefer DRM free, this is the way to go.
Wishlisted for now.. Waiting for a sale.
Great to see it here.
