Hollow Knight , the charmingly morbid Metroidvania about a bug's life and many deaths, has received its final content update. It’s been a long journey since the first time you defeat that tricky boss, but all good things must come to an end.

Godmaster, the free and final update for Hollow Knight, is now live!

Also releasing today is the Hollow Knight: Gods & Nightmares soundtrack DLC

To celebrate, there will be a 34% discount on the base game as well as the soundtrack. Offer ends August 27th 5pm UTC

A new edition known as 'Hollow Knight & Soundtracks ' will replace the 'Hollow Knight Soundtrack Edition'. Owners of the replaced edition will receive 20% off Hollow Knight Gods and Nightmares DLC. This will stack with other promos.

MadalinStroe: Just letting you know, this is not something GOG can just decide to do. The developer/publisher of each individual game needs to give their OK, before GOG can add a game to a GOG Connect promo. You might get better luck if you contact Team Cherry directly via social media.

AlexN55: Thanks very much, friend. I'll look up one of their accounts and do jus that. I appreciate the head's up :)
Glad to be of help, I'm sure a lot of people would be grateful if you managed to pull a victory! Luckily I bought Hallow Knight here on GOG.

EDIT: Tremendous work Team Cherry, you deserve so much more for your game. I'll definitively be buying the second soundtrack, I'm just waiting for the GOG weekend promo.

Hollow Knight has been on my wishlist for months... thanks for the nice deal with the Soundtracks edition!

Zoidberg: Cool! I thought they were going to keep pushing free dlc! Ahah!

Time to find some time to dig in again!

That game is so much better than Ori (that I regret buying honestly).

Only... I really don't understand the dlc and deals...

Are there any content dlc that's paid? Or are those only for the music?

I only have the base game, what do I have to buy to get everything?

reative00: Three content packs are free (they're an extended story for the original protagonist); Hornet DLC is coming (probably next year), and it'll be a paid one.

Wondering tho, why you don't like Ori? I haven't sunk much time in it (about 5 hours), but aside from the fact that's focused on jumping, climbing and such instead of fighting, it's still super fucking awesome.
I really don't like the fact how the difficulty is of the "gotcha" type... you need to jump where you don't see anything and then you die, it rings as pretty lazy to me.

Hollow Knight is much more well done in that regard.

And also, it's oh so much clearer and readable. I can't see shit in Ori.
so... those who already have the game get all expensions (Hidden Dreams, The Grimm Troupe, Lifeblood, Godmaster) updated to their library automaticly for free but the soundtrack costs extra because it is an extra?
Nice of the creators to give the expentions for free.

Imo you actually cannot compare these two AT ALL and I am wondering why so many do. I played both games and while I do agree that Hollow Knight is a great game I would not dare to compare it to Ori. Ori is mostly based on jump and run parts. Yes, you do fight but it clearly is not the focus in rhis game. Hollow Knight however is more or less completely focused on the combat (which is why each free DLC adds more and harder boss fights) and that is what made it hard for me when I first tried it. I actually quit the game multiple times and was near to uninstall it (before I tried it again and again because so many people seem to like it ) it's just meant for good gamers (which unfortunately I am obviously not). While Ori has several difficult settings these are missing completely in Hollow Knight so there will be several people having a hard time with Hollow Knight. Ori is a more or less simple and easy to understand fun jump and run experience while Hollow Knight wants the player to work for everything. Yes, Ori had a few trial and error passages in it but because of the custom save point mechanism in it (which prevents frustration a lot) I did not mind much.
What about realese a demo or free trial of the game?

Alexim: Nooo, I hate these things...
Yep, I don't like that too, and it adds to the confusion :P
I hope GOG will do something concerning that one day !

Both countdown clocks are 3 days shorter.

personthingy: "Gods & Nightmares" is the second soundtrack, it is not game content. The base game contains the game content updates - they're already in the game, not separate downloads.
Damn. If I'd known that, I would've just bought the game. Well, now that I've got the lot I might as well have a listen to the soundtracks and see if I'm actually interested in them. Lots of great game soundtracks are fantastic for mood setting in the game but not so good for just listening to on the daily commute.

I can always refund and buy the game only if I really don't like them. Then again, it's not that much difference and I guess I'm supporting the devs (&/or publishers). They deserve something as a thank you for free DLC :)

cecil: all DLC thus far is free the OSTs cost so there are only 3 items Hollow Knight, HK OST Vol. 1 and HK OST Vol. 2 Gods and Nightmares the forth is Hollow Knight with OSTs (gog that is a wonky way to do that) so yes you did just buy everything twice it would seem if you bought all four items
Luckily no, I just bought "Hollow Knight & Soundtracks". As noted above, I'll probably keep them anyway.

Oh no! Well, lucky the music is rather lovely, though not sure if it's apt for daily commuting... Maybe if it's a rainy day :P

Personally, I like listening to OSTs while doing something like chores. Gets me pumped to do the boring thing quickly so I can get back to playing the game haha
In my opinion, this is BY FAR the best metroidvania around.
No other can compete, seriously.
I have to fire it up again to see what the update is about.
Hey devs, I've made a rhyme for you, since I was taking a break from the game by taking shower and my creative flow has gone crazy.

R u ready.

Hey team cherry,
Would you like a berry,
Team cherry-berry!

I'm bad at rhymes, sorry.
But I love you guys.
Purchased the game! Can't wait to play it! Skipped the soundtrack bundles, for now. Music is quite fantastic, but I can't picture myself listening to it outside of the game world.
So, if I own the original game and the soundtrack separately, I get no extra discounts? Not even a way to upgrade to "Hollow Knight & Soundtracks"?
