Dressed to kill.

The Loyalist Upgrade DLC, a delectable collection of vanity items to give your Grim Dawn characters that crucial bit of extra flair, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 15% launch discount.

When you're a mean, lean, constantly seen killing machine, there's nothing more important than looking amazing - covered in blood or otherwise. Rest assured: these items will definitely keep you in vogue with their timeless appeal and killer style. So don George Washington's wig and teach your enemies some manners. Perhaps you prefer the more unwholesome pirate look? In that case, the Swashbuckler's Coat and the Admiral's Hat might be more to your tastes. To further undermine your otherwise fearsome disposition, make sure to try some of the Enchanted Burrwitch Brew that will give you all the glorious disadvantages of a bad hangover and none of the questionable social skills. But at least make sure to bring a Will-O'-The-Wisp along, to help you see in the dark and find your way back home. Or around the next dungeon.

Level up your Grim Dawn character's fashion sense with the fun selection of cosmetic items found inside the Loyalist Upgrade DLC, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 15% discount will last until December 29, 5:59 PM UTC.

xernos: I don't buy this now, for that price you expect new character, items, new area , overall extend campaigning, but not few items. Maybe in future I will buy this when price will not exceed 1$ on some sale.

PS.
Recently I Buy all games on GOG, and again I feel I do something wrong. My brother in law spend, a lot less money on games with HB that me and his library is not that poor. Also he gets updates faster that me...

Best regards,
Yours loyal customer
As for new characters, give the DAIL mod a blast.
Not only new characters, but also new quests, spells, weapons, gear, insane toughness, .... basically loads more.

You're welcome. It's a bloody good mod indeed.
One minor warning, if you set it to Grimmest (more mobs & bosses) some times the split second you enter a few of the dungeons, they come charging at you straight away.
I opted for the 4*bosses & spawns only, still a nice challenge.
Still saving up for the $30 Witcher DLC coming out next week that gives Geralt a flashy new belt buckle.

Smannesman: The name of the DLC made me think it would be free to owners of the game.
Also, sheesh that is expensive for what seems like quite a shitty DLC.
Well, the Loyalist edition is meant to be for the people who are *loyal* to the game/delevopers and therefore want to support them even further. So if people think that the game is great and they want to make sure that the developers can produce more content for Grim Dawn or work on other new projects, this is the way to go. The items that you get with the loyalist upgrade are more or less something extra for you to enjoy, while you support Crate Entertainment. This upgrade is clearly not meant for the casual players (like me), but for the hardcore fans of Grim Dawn......and maybe also for the collection completionists (like me). :P

But so far I am leaning towards not purchasing the DLC, since I have spent more than enough money on other games this month.

DampSquib: I love the game, i do truly but £6.39 for a few items that do fuck all, no, just no.
Wait until it's £1 in a sale.
Not even for that amount though. Supporting such practices is a clear no-no from me.

/edit: Meh, stupid settings bugging out again.

Oh, yes i am so excited about it!

The devs seems to have forgotten that they're not in Early Access any more. At this price it seems more like a charity buy than something actually desirable.

There's nothing inherently wrong with DLC though. DLC is a good way to add content for an existing game without the problems that come with devs and consumers waiting for a sequel. When DLCs add new characters, new areas to explore, new items to use etc, they can still have good value. Notice how I said CAN and not WILL because we all know some DLC is utter shite.

In this case, the game page is very clear what's in the DLC. These cosmetic items are not required for the original game and don't affect the original game in anyway so Crate isn't doing anything wrong here. Like others have said, the only problem here is the price.

I don't see a problem here.

It is purely cosmetic DLC for Loyal fans who wish to contribute to studio they like.

MuHa Games has DLC for Thea the Awakeng titled "Coffee for Developers" - it is the same thing here - you want to give an extra "tip", you can do it. If you don't, nobody's forcing you. It's not like you're missing anything.

But, if you decide that this game is not worth your support (as I do for now - it is on my account but I haven't played it yet), don't run around telling devs are greedy bastards.

Don't be that guy. Please.
Hm, with time passing I grow more and more disappointed with Grim Dawn. What had been started as a very promising old-school thing from Titan Quest team now turns into a buggy piece of a game with eclectic and weird plot, wanting graphics (even for such an old-fashioned gamer and 3D-hater like me) and more than dubious further development decisions.
You do realise that there are posts in kickstartered/preorder bonuses game threads with folks saying that they're fine with paying for the naff as hell crap that gets put in those "incentives" but will not abide a game that will not make it available.

So from the devs perspective there are people telling them I hate exclusive trash sell it to me or I will never buy your games. The other side says I hate overpriced fluff dlc I'm never going to buy your games if you sell that. With the free argument being opposed by folks that paid through the nose for the exclusive Hooblorrr the non-interactive hob-gnome companion or whatever and will be mighty pissed if it turns up in game without at least a token fee.

Ultimately if it means more patches and better expansions then milk that crap for all its worth.

fishbaits: *clears throat*

"Here ya go guys & gals, cough up £6.39 for these vanity items for Grim Dawn"
"What's that you say? Well, yeah....the game is heavily modable & anyone could make these kind of things for free or mere pennies, but, erm....buh bye?"

P.S. How do the backers feel? I know they paid a hell of a lot more for these, now they're sold to all & sundry? o0
Reminds me of what arenanet did with gw2.

*heads off to make mods*

Hmm, 3p cheaper on steam. Weird pricing!
Considering the game is just a licensed TC mod of Titan Quest to begin with, totally makes sense.
More than doing those kind of operation. i'd rather wish they fix their game. It's buggy as hell even now.
The DLC doesn't bother me (as a backer i don't have an issue with people getting exclusive stuff later at smaller price backing means funding a game not being a customer but an investor with a marge of risk), the pricing neither. But doing it when your game is in this state. I kind of feel like they're taking people for huge dove.
