As I said, no worries. It's just a buck anyways.
Bought. Kitties will rule the Earth one day. And foxes. And Fairfoxes.
I discovered this game just a few days ago, and voted for it in the wishlist. Nice to see it released now! Thank you GOG.
Getting this tomorrow
Edit: Monday sounds more likely. No time to get a pre-paid card. :P

Finally i can play with Catus Aran.
nice idea.... but only white and some black ...............32 bit color or more are available

so why only white and black ?

recomm. system: 2.93 ghz ??? (。-_-。)

2.93 ghz means a quadcore 2.66 cant run it at recommended : (。-_-。)

Intel Core i3-530 (2 * 2930)

Performance

# of Cores 2
# of Threads 4
Processor Base Frequency 2.93 GHz
Cache 4 MB SmartCache
Anyway: i guess an i7 9700K ( 3.6 ghz) and a GTX 1060 with 6 GB ( to begin with) , and 16 GB ram will soon be too low aswell .......(i consider buying them, but after seeing a game that almost needs 3 ghz for 2 color game ?)

Its mostly an artistic choice, however some developers can't fully draw in 32 bit so they choose something less difficult. It depends on the programmers.

I don't understand the high requirements as well. its probably the engine the game was made on. It would explain the rather high requirements if the developers have choosen either Unity or Game Maker as their engine of choice.

^To be honest, I also don't know why the requirements are so high for this game!

An artistic choice ? well that would explain a lot :D
I can't draw , but i'm not trying to develop games , two color games in 2019 ? Vic and c64 only used few colors because of limitations, not because of choice , an even C64 was able to use more colors .

I will never understand the choice of Unity , Game maker and anything like it, gaming > 40 years now so i have seen many games but the past 10 years were horrible regarding games that look like old c64 but require 3 ghz and a 1080 GPU :D.

I'm afraid many developers or maybe the current developer generation has become 'lazy' using drag n drop and klik n play like "engines" to visually drag and drop a game together , i am used to quality ( jagged alliance, baldurs gate fallout gorky 17 command and conquer, red alert, (only referring to the classic, no shtty remakes with even more crppy 3d engines like RA 3 and 4, i believe even Gorky had a 3d game, can't find it but i am sure it was released , it was unlike Gorky 17, and imho an ugly 3d game.

Anyway if i ever find the game i will post a link, can't find it, but i'm sure there was another Gorky based game but totally different then the good old claasic Gorky 17.

regarding 1#: Yeah, these games are often made to "look" retro but they don't really use engines that work on "older" machines. However, there are examples of indie games that will also work on "modified" retro consoles. Check out Xeno Crisis, which will be coming to gog. Besides the rather low requirements, there will also be a Mega Drive/Genesis version for that game for Kickstarter backers. Read this kickstarter post for more info. There aren't many indie games that are made using custom/homebrew engines anymore. Back in the 80s a lot of games were coded in ASM, which in turn would even make a graphic intensive game run really well on commodore machines.

regarding 2# and 3#: Yeah you're speaking truth but on the other hand we see many more indie games coming out. Some of these games are just made for fun and practice while some are of high quality. The big downside are the rather high hardware requirements though. I'd say if you don't like the "new indie movement" that you see today then I recommend not buying any of their games. Its definitely a personal choice however. I heard very good things regarding Gato Roboto and it also looks very good animated judging from actual gameplay videos. For the asking price of 6 bucks or so without discount this game seems like an alright deal to me but I can understand if some people think otherwise.

I think they're trying to evoke a Game Boy look...for better or worse...

regarding #4: Is it this game?
about the classic game: https://www.gog.com/game/xeno_crisis
it supports lower end PC but a lot of i5 were build and i think mine will be the bad one of the i5 range

system requirements for xeno_crisis

System:
Windows 7/8.x/10 check
Processor:
Intel Core i5

Memory:
1GB Memory check
Graphics: check
512MB VRAM check
Storage:
Disk Space 400MB check
Sound:
Any compatible soundcard check

I5: check .............

BUT : i5 750 2.66 ghz .... this one shows up many times in as many Google results unfortunately the majority of topic are complaints about the cpu, ofcourse i was not aware of that at the time i bought the CPU.

If i had known id never bought i5 750 2.66.

Anyway, i am stuck with it, and it performed well, but after a few years problems started, maybe because of M$ and it's weird "(security) patches' who might have f... up things.

It's impossible to find out what exactly happend, i still believe things went wrong when M$ started to force things in updates to 'promote'/ push its evil windozer 10, i managed to undo some evil M$ has done, but its impossible to reinstall w7 clean, cause all the good updates are 'messed up" and contain bad stuff crippling my pc..

Only a few months to go before it turns 10 ( TEN) years old which is ridiculous ......... add 2 years
and it would become 12 years old..... , meaning a 3RD PC would be build soon, instead of playing with an 'ancient' setup. Courtesy of: Euro currency. :D

4. yes that's the game i was talking about, thanks for the youtube link.
