Q: Who is going to write patches and bugfixes for this game? I would hate to buy only to find out that i will forever be stuck with a game containing bugs that will never get fixed. Not for that amount of money, not even on sale, really.

They're now going to make NFT games, lol.
What even is an "NFT game"? I mean, how are NFTs a genre or a game mechanic or... what?

Anyway, this really doesn't make me want to give them a dime. Not if it will fuel their NFT enterprise.

Did you ever hear about those "trading card games"? People dumping entire fortunes on cat-in-the-bag pieces of cardboard to gain all-so-fleeting advantage in a bad to mediocre (but in all cases poorly balanced so those poor fools would keep spending) card game. Well, I reckon it'd be like that, only without cardboard, so I dunno where high quality could come from.
Their first two games were very decent, so maybe they just tack the NFT aspect on a similar strategic frame but I wouldn't hold much hope until we know more.

Syphon72: What are you talking about?
Never mind, it's just a typical nazi. For them, hatred of everything Turkish has been the "norm" for many years. And one of the offices of Logic Artists is located in Istanbul

As for the NFT - something tells me that this will turn out to be a very bad decision. Let's wait and see
just finished Vikings last month.
really looking dorward to this.

Pajama: Can you clarify about the 'Rewards linked to having a Twitch account' as mentioned by Lone_Scout?

https://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_expeditions_rome_5f2aa/post7
Seconded. This is extremely off-putting to me if there is content locked behind what is effectively DRM. It is the difference between wanting to purchase this game at full price and not purchasing at all even when it reaches a deep discount in the future. Thank goodness for the users on this forum to point this stuff out. If this Twitch information is not on the gamepage, and it is indeed content only available that way, that also would be extremely concerning.
It's already release time? Nice.
I loved Conquestador and Vikings, can't wait to play this one!

It's been known that Twitch Integration for this game was coming, there has been a special event for 'famous content creators' with skin-drops, they published a dev-log about it, there were news, there is yet another special event you can get these special skins for a short amount of time. It will be an exclusive streamer thing after and so you don't even have to pay attention to the Twitch Button in the main-menu, just ignore it.

If you really want the cosmetics but couldn't care less watching streamers to get them, i bet a mill that sooner or later they will become available by other means.

Personally, i don't like the idea that games, for the sake of getting more publicity, start integrating Twitch. No matter that being Timberborn or Rimworld. Bad idea, since these are single player games, so they should make the plug-ins separate, but when Amazon money is at play and Twitch integration pays, who would say no?

Thank you. I hadn't followed the game's development so I did not know this. Twitch integration itself does not "bother" me that much though I agree the plug-ins should be separately; but I can see the argument it is basically a relevant feature to have in games even though I wouldn't call it necessary per se. It's the exclusive content that I think needs to be warned about.

And i absolutely agree with you that this is a relevant piece of information. It wouldn't be wrong to include Twitch-Integration into the Game Features section on the store page and an info on top of the page about drops or exclusive items only available for Prime Gaming members.

Since it's going to be free content and THQ was generous, they'd offer the skins for free on GOG or as extra-DLC in a pack with other specials as exclusive when purchasing it here. ;-)

I don't know exactly either what this NFT game is supposed to be, I'm too old for that kind of thing. But definitely sounds dodgy.
I agree it's a disappointing development, presumably also means that support for Expeditions: Rome might be limited, and probably no expansions either.

thx for the answer! I can't run Vikings on my current laptop, but will definitely play it when I've got a new one.
