Yep, not a very good offer. My advice is to get the base game first (wait for a sale if you are short on money, there will be one sooner or later). It will give you many hours of good gameplay before you need to add some DLC. Read the reviews if you want some valuable opinions about it, I'm quite lazy and bad at writing reviews.

God I hope this game isn't going to become a DLC-fest, please tell me they're not going to release each update as a paid DLC!

They've released a whole lot of updates (balancing, VR, HOTAS support...) for free already since 1.0

I know, I'd just have preferred to pay an extra £8 for the game originally, so I know how much I'm paying. Nothing inherently wrong with the game or the devs (they're both great actually). I'm just cautious & easily worried by DLCs shortly after a games release.
