Classic lovers rejoice!

We are incredibly happy and excited to announce that Empire of the Ants, an extremely unique RTS and simulation title originally released on PC in 2000, is now available on GOG! Moreover, until April 21st, 1 PM UTC, you can get it with a -15% launch discount.

Based on the bestseller book of the same name by Bernard Werber and created by Microids, Empire of the Ants (2000) offers one of a kind experience of becoming the leader of an ant colony who must feed its workers, expand it, and protect the queen at all costs.

The gameplay in Empire of the Ants revolves around resource management, expansion, and combat. You start with a small group of ants and must collect resources such as food, wood, and stone to expand your colony. You can also assign different tasks to your ants, such as foraging, construction, and fighting. Additionally, this classic gem features a variety of ant species, each with their own unique abilities and roles within the colony, which adds to its strategic depth.

What made Empire of the Ants stand out all those years ago was most of all its unique perspective, allowing us to experience the world from the viewpoint of these very familiar insects. The game provides a detailed simulation of ant behavior and colony management, which can be both educational and incredibly entertaining.

But Empire of the Ants isn’t just an RTS title. It also features an engaging storyline with a campaign mode that includes various missions and objectives, adding a sense of progression and accomplishment. It is filled with detailed environments and ant animations that add to the already very immersive experience. And with multiplayer options, allowing up to 8 players to compete against each other or cooperate in building and managing ant colonies, the fun becomes even greater.

So whether you’re a classic games’ lover, strategy title enthusiast, nature simulation fan, or all of them together – it is an absolute must-have.

It’s high time to lead your ants to victory and secure the growth of your colony. Empire of the Ants, now on GOG!
Cool release.

Nice! And at the same time nope!

Extremely unique reminded me about this scene from The West Wing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQGEBEYPf9g
sorry
Hmm, another game also available on zoom, Mega-Lo-Mania when?
how is a clone of simant extremely unique? not to mention unique already means it's one of a kind, it can't be extremely that even if it was true.

and of course, simant when? might break my not buying anything from you until you fix your fucking store streak.

Reading the game card and looking at the images, it doesn't look like a clone at all. Just because something is thematically similar doesn't mean it's a clone.

I'm excited to see this. I'm also really hoping the newer game with the same title finishes soon. It's an underdone genre. How was that "you're a bee" game that came to GOG int he last year or two? I never did try it.
Wow! Fantastic!
is this ant game good? :D

You are whining about such trivial thing. By you're logic no game that similar to Doom can be unique. Which we know is not true. I swear some people are on here just to bitch about everything

its a bit finnicky to play and takes some getting used to but once when you grasp it its pretty fun.
I remember playing this Starcraft 2 custom map with a similar concept, you play as a specific species of insect (ant, termite, ladybug etc) and expand your empire and defeat the other players.
KGB next, please
Looks awesome. The visuals sort of remind me of Pikmin. Wishlisted.

+1 for Mega-Lo-Mania. I don't think I will ever be a Zoom Platform customer after reading about their shady exclusivity deal for A Vampyre Story last year so I'm very happy to see Microids bring this game to GOG. I hope that other devs follow suit and bring their Zoom games to GOG. (I'm looking at you Fulqrum, Cryo, FunBox, Gearbox, and EA.)
