Elminage Gothic an old-school Wizardry-like dungeon crawler, is available now for Windows, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount!

Elminage Gothic is old-school dungeon crawling from the makers of the "Wizardry Empire", and the inspiration is clear. Elminage Gothic does not mess around, it's all the classic gameplay you expect - complex character creation, vast dungeons, and no hand-holding whatsoever - you will savor every victory you earn, every level you gain, and every healthpoint you grow. Elminage Gothic offers up a few of its own ideas as well, including new classes, and refined crafting and combat mechanics. With 16 malleable classes, 65+ quests, 75+ floors worth of dungeon crawling, 400+ creepy-as-hell monsters, and 500+ weapons and armor Elminage Gothic is an adventuring goldmine for the biggest Wizardry fans out there.

Quad-headed bull-flowers, cthulhu-rats and awfully smug face-spiders stand in your way in Elminage Gothic, available now DRM-free on GOG.com. The 50% launch discount will last for one week, until April 14, at 9:59 AM GMT.
You wicked store...You had to bring a game like this on PC...Bye-bye, sleep.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I looked around the site to find out when the discount promotion for this game ends, and this thread was the only place where I could find that information.

I wrote to GOG about this recently, in connection with another game, and was told that the information could be found either on the forum, in the relevant 'news' thread, or in the email sent out about promos. At that time, I had never visited the forums, so certainly hadn't thought to look there, and I often don't keep promo emails - which mostly arrive after the promo has started anyway.

Not all members use the forums, or subscribe to the emails, so wouldn't it make sense to add the information about when a promo ends to the game page itself, or to add a small line of text at the bottom of the promo pic on the home page?

While I agree that putting a timer for the discount in a game's page would be a good improvement, you don't need to enter the thread to find out, but only the release tab.

True, that is where I found it - but you still have to know to look in the 'Community' section and find the relevant news story. Not all members use the forums so would not know where to look.

Editing to ask if I've missed something? That wouldn't be unusual. ;-) Your screenshot doesn't look like the top of this thread, but seems to come from somewhere else? Where, oh where would that somewhere be? :-D

Perhaps at least a link on the game page to the relevant news release / forum would be possible?

You don't need to click the community section, but merely the specific release tab from the Headlines on the left of the main page.

There are indeed ways to improve it. I'm merely pointing out that you don't have to enter the forums at all.

Sorry, hadn't seen this when I edited my post above.

Thank you for pointing that out, I had overlooked that section.
+1 for your helpfulness. :-)

You're welcome. :)
This is nice. I'll buy it! :)
bought it yesterday;
having an elf with 495 years old for +11 bonus points - press [E] like crazy to reroll for more ability points

will characters die/or lose abilities because of old age in game?
I started playing and am interested in the bonus dungeons (eventually). Will it be obvious how to access them after winning the game? Or can I screw up my chances of getting to see them by my actions in the game proper.

Thanks.

Rob
