skirtish: it's a significantly better deal for the former, which always feels unfair to some of the latter

StingingVelvet: This is an extremely normal thing though. People are acting like collected editions years later is some unique offense.
I actually hadn't noticed anyone acting as if the offense is unique, just as if it's offensive. I would also question if the frequency of an occurrence is related to its desirability. Lastly, as I understand it, people aren't resenting the existence of collections but the lack of an upgrade path.

Any DLC people might be missing is available separately and is also on sale right now. Also iirc there's only one real expansion and it's even included with the base game now, so... I dunno, seems like people looking to be annoyed. That's just me though.

If I for one buy all remaining DLC individually, I end up paying double of what the collection costs.

As I said, buying the collection would absolutely save me money, so admittedly the disadvantage is relative. It is a disadvantage all the same, just one you either care about or not, and if you personally don't, that's really quite fine by me. What would be pretty neat on the other hand is if you didn't dismiss other takes on it.

I'm actually somewhat puzzled what your motivation is to go out of your way and snub people by alleging they're making up grievances just for the hell of it.

Well, for me it is the pricing. If there would be an upgrade option available people who already bought the game before would get the remaining DLCs much cheaper since the actual price is for base AND DLCs so those people would have to pay less than the actual PE price. Unfortunately such an offer does not exist and buying the DLCs seperately is more expensive (in opposite to what you said not every DLC is on sale and those that are don't have the same discount as the PE) therefore I won't buy. This could have been the perfect opportunity to push owners to add the remaining stuff to their base versions but Techland and maybe GOG as well decided otherwise.

The internet's endless negativity is just exhausting, pardon me for venting. It's a 6 year old game that already had a collected edition that was on sale for $15 or less many times. It's just something I think people shouldn't invest emotion into.

hafizadam: for those who already owned Standard, buying Platinum version only cost you USD24.99 while buying all the DLCs separately will cost you USD 42.52.

if I get new code for base game I will post it here for giveaway...
still considering to buy or not to buy though (just for the sake of collection)

UhuruNUru: Don't care it's all cosmetic microtransaction trash, and none of it is worth paying a single penny for.

The only result Techland has achieved is to put me completely off buying the sequel, as I refuse to support devs that sell cosmetics as overpriced microtransaction trash

Put cosmetic microtransactions in your products, and I don't buy your next product, I don't mind the Following expansion, but that was the ONLY single player story based expansion, and I have zero interest in any multi-player, or co-op content.
Do you prefer pay 2 win and 199$ worth of weapons as dlc? Some packs already had new weapons, or better versions, like the assault rifle with 30 round mag instead of 20 and an electricity based rifle that doesn't alert enemies.

Cosmetics are a way to support the developer without having to buy everything for the full experience. I won't buy the platinum since I found the game quite boring but I have seen worse

all internet users should meet up irl and brawl in the street

greyhat: Dying Light 2 release date was just announced. it is on December the 7th, 2021

Hopefully with a GOG release.
Cool, I'll buy it when Dying Light 3 is announced :). Seems like it's the way to go with these DLC-laden games

If internet actually meet IRL it will be just an awkward meeting where everyone is too afraid to talk.

Just spreading negative emotions to be negative and critizising things that should (and even could) be reconsidered imo are two different things. Without saying anything nothing would ever change with everything that's unfair or incorrect in the world. Does not mean that it will if you do say something but at least then there's a chance. The internet is simply a tool/option to tell those responsible what we think.

Ok, finally got it. Thx, GOG. :)

Question, though. There are five entries for DLCs that I cannot download from my library. For some reason they're in the Extras section, below the other bonus materials.

Crash Test Skin Pack
Dying Light: The Following DLC
Dying Light: Bozak Horde DLC
Cuisine & Cargo DLC
Ultimate Survivor Bundle DLC

So, are those broken links or are those DLCs included in the main installer? >_>

I think these are already part of the enhanced edition with season pass. Never bought anything extra and these are the dlc i own on the steam version. My guess is that they are already installed
