Dry Drowning is now available DRM-free. Get it 15% off until August 9th, 1pm UTC. GOG version of the game includes exclusive artbook.

Dry Drowning is a psychological investigative visual novel set in a futuristic dystopian city. Follow the story of Mordred Foley, unscrupulous private detective haunted by his dark past, and look into a series of macabre serial killings inspired by Greek mythology.

buondiablo: Thanks everyone for your amazing words! We Hope you will enjoy the game, please let us know if you do!

The full soundtrack will be available very soon!

J_Darnley: Do you mean as DLC? Or can I buy it elsewhere? Also I should ask is the music from the trailer here included?
The soundtrack will be available as a DLC, yes. Maybe elsewhere too, but we are still considering it.
The music in the trailer you linked will be included!
At last the PayPal glitch is solved and I could buy this thrilling game. Thanks to some helpful GOG users who caught the badger.

I haven't played more than the demo yet, but want to give more praise to the developer in particular for this fantastic artbook.
It is informative and not just a screenshot album.
Thanks.
Now looking forward to the soundtrack too.

Well, this is the kind of game for me. I always wanted a visual-novel investigation video game that don't require an IQ of 180 in the mould of Phoenix Wright, albeit on a serious tone. This game tick all those boxes
Just ripped through the demo and immediately purchased the game.

Love the story, the setting, the themes, the art style, everything.

Took me back to the thrill of playing old Dynamix adventure games (especially Rise Of The Dragon).

rjbuffchix: Big KUDOS to the developer for providing GOG-exclusive artbook!! I can't think of many games that look to court the GOG audience. Most of the time we're just a second thought or an annoyance, it seems.
Isn't exclusivity bad?

Not necessarily, imo. Some folks feel this way but I do not. My beef with a store like Scheme, or a store like Epic Fail, isn't really that they are the only places that sell X new game. Rather, my beef is more that X new game cannot be bought DRM-free from anywhere. It seems similar in practice but in my view there is a clear distinction (see next paragraph). I think exclusive content, or other incentives, for DRM-free buyers is a good way to push back against the trend of so many games on the market being "DRM-exclusive".

Also, I am very much a fan of offline "backup" installers and not using clients, so I am not married to the idea of being in one particular ecosystem to take advantage of a client. In other words, if another DRM-free competitor was the one to release a big game like, say, Vampyr, and GOG had not released it, I would not have any qualms about buying on the other store, even though all else equal I'd prefer to buy on GOG (not because I am intertwined with the client, but simply because I like the store, the company behind it, and what they have done for traditional gaming).

Hope that makes sense

GAME exclusivity, yes. Not optional non-game bonuses.

Hi, I thought it might be the easiest way to contact you here. Just tested the latest update and I would like to give some feedback:

1) I really like that you changed the mouse pointer during non investigative parts - thank you very much!
2) Subtitles in intro scene still are missing. It's not a big deal for myself but keep in mind that there are people that depend on them (be it because of language problems or because they are hearing impaired). So hopefully those still will come.

The thing I was most happy about though was when I read this:
"Changes to investigation mode: It’s no longer possible to interact with the same area/object more than once."
I was hoping this would prevent examining areas several times and then realizing that you already investigated this area. However it does not seem to work. I am in cases office and I am able to examine theplants in the bureau again and again - also getting the same description. Did I misunderstand the meaning of this feature?

Edit: It seems as if the feature is only working for some crucial clues and not for every area which imo is a bit sad.

Based on the feedback we collected from all of you, we implemented the following improvements and fixes in the current patch (Build 1.0.3):

-On the first start, the game will automatically detect the system language and adapt accordingly.
-Introductive video can now be skipped anytime, even on the first start.
-Dynamic subtitles (press TAB key to switch them on/off) in the introductive video are now available.
-It's now possible to go back to the main menu by pressing "Back" after selecting "Start+"
-English localization of Chapters 1 and 2 has been proof-read.
-Added text related “Advancement mode” in Settings menu, featuring three dialogue modes:
NORMAL: The text appears on the screen gradually. The player needs to click to advance to the next dialogue.
FAST: The text appears on the screen all at once. The player needs to click to advance to the next dialogue.
AUTO: The text appears on the screen gradually and automatically. The player doesn't need to click advance to the next dialogue.
-Changes to investigation mode: It’s no longer possible to interact with the same area/object more than once.
-Modified the mouse cursor: The mouse pointer is less invasive during the non-investigative phases.
-[Bug Fix] Fixed an issue with the animations of Mordred and Hera’s portraits during the investigation in the “Darkroom” - Chapter 3.
-[Bug Fix] Fixed an issue with the animation of Abigail’s portrait in the following locations: “Foley Investigations”, “David Casey’s Office”, “Talon Square”.
-[Bug Fix] Minor fixes to text formatting.
-[Bug Fix] Several timing adjustments during dialogues and cut scenes.
-[Bug Fix] Fixed an issue that was causing the game to crash in Chapter 3.
-[Bug Fix] Fixed an issue that allowed players to skip some of the dialogues needed in Chapter 3.
-[Bug Fix] Added a missing document in Chapter 1.

That's all for now, but further updates and a new announcement are coming soon so stay tuned and Be A Good Citizen!
