nightcraw1er.488: F in hell! How much! Think someone needs to fund their next 3 Star Wars films. Is beamdog in anyway involved (it’s their modus operandi = widescreen mod + huge price hike).

richlind33: Disney was doing Beamdog long before Beamdog arrived on the scene.
It’s a which came first, the turd or the anus?
Instabuy, thank you :)
low rated
Should I even mention, that I'm kinda pissed that there are no Achievements... I really don't think this new version is worth it, if you already own the old MS-DOS versions, which I do.

After seeing the consistency with which Focus Home Interactive have been releasing their games with Achievements, I'm convinced it's an easy addition on GOG, so this release is pretty lazy. :(

breegull: I regret not getting the original version of Lion King the last time it was on sale. I have a feeling that this will never drop below $24.99 or so.
Yeah. If that happens, I might wind up pulling a "me and Nintendo" and paying a premium to exercise my right to give them the financial finger by exercising my rights under the First Sale Doctrine.

(ie. Buy cartridges on eBay so they don't show up on their balance sheet and stick them in my Retrode.)

Was kind of excited to see these back on GOG, but the price is just absurdly high for titles this old as others have noted. Will wait till at least a 66% off sale before considering purchasing.

Cool.

Since we have Hercules, GOG should remind Disney about other '90s titles they have like Toy Story 2 Action Game, Tarzan, Donald Duck Goin Quackers, etc.
Don’t forget Aladdin Nasira’s Revenge. Not the best entry in the series but still had some charm. And we also need some 3D action ;). Cheers
I am not very much interested in this release as I deem it rather pricy and don't have the nostalgia glasses on for the games in it - while they are not bad titles, they were still mediocre back then and would be long forgotten if no franchise were attached to it.

But what the f... is happing in the review section on the store page ? One guy even complains about this not beeing a remake, but there was never any mentioning of this beeing a remake nor does any of the screenshot suggest that.

They might referrer to the fact that one of the developers claimed that the final cut will feature certain new level sections and new boss patterns. And yet, from the look of things, there doesn't seem to be anything new.

I'd love to see somebody do a dual screen playthrough of the old and final cut versions.

But even if we ignore the fact that this is not stateted anywhere on the store page, these changes alone would be hard to sell as a remake or remaster (and people would complain that adding some level parts and editing boss patterns does not count as that).

The trailer does make it sound that some visual enhancements should be expected. It's implied, and so some expectations were raised beyond the scope of the project. Just notice in how many reviews, people are surprised that the SNES Aladdin isn't included.

Even I assumed SNES Aladdin would be included, which is why I said that I don't think this collection is worth it.

I assumed too that the SNES Version would be included, but just beacuse I expected it, not because the trailer or the text implied it. After watching the Video again, I am still wondering why people would expect a remaster/remake. While vusal enhancements are mentioned they are also named directly below it - and you can almost always see gameplay footage, that clearly does not look like that the graphics where changed beyond some filtering.

Some might even call this the circle of life.
I'd call it the circle of cash.
