Cyberpunk blues

Dex, a 2D cyberpunk side-scroller of intense combat and rich exploration, is available now for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with GOG Galaxy support for achievements and a 50% launch discount.

This is the future and there's trouble brewing, both in meatspace and cyberspace. You are Dex, a blue-haired girl of peculiar talents, hunted by the authorities of the cyberpunk metropolis Harbor Prime. As you hit the streets and back alleys looking for answers, you realise that a rogue AI is trying to transcend the limits of human intelligence and bring about the Singularity. Something big is about to go down. Downtown.
Dex will engage in a lot of dexterous platforming, melee and ranged combat, skill augmentation, and fateful interactions with the inhabitants of this neon-lit city. But in the end, the choice on how to utilise her unique talents and how to resolve the world-shattering conflict raging around her will be hers and hers alone.

Upload yourself in a complex, challenging, and detailed cyberpunk universe as Dex, DRM-free on GOG.com. This version also comes augmented with awesome free goodies, including a digital artbook, game wallpapers and avatars, plus the evocative soundtrack, available in both MP3 and FLAC.
The 50% discount will last for the duration of the Summer Sale.

Vainamoinen: The prolonged endgame is a bit heavy on the VR stuff. Don't neglect those abilities, fellow travellers. :)
Yep, just finished it and I found the twin-stick-shooter VR part overstayed its welcome a bit. There were some design decisions during the endgame that I thought a bit questionable, they made small sections difficult or a bit tedious while completely disregarding your character build choices. I also felt my impression about ranged combat as the weakest ability path confirmed, melee, stealth and hacking approaches seemed to work much better. But you do get enough ability points to spread them across several abilities. And overall it was an awesome game!

I'm exactly at that point right now, and I'm considering shelving it for that.

But let's see how I feel after Dreamfall Chapters Book Five. :p

Fortunately, if we're talking about the same thing, it's not very long. Your best bet is probably to just try to run and jump past all enemies and reach the door before they can stun or hurt you ... Or are you talking about the VR sections?

No, I think we're talking about the same thing. I died at one point during the second scene, and upon retry didn't have enough energy left to ever succeed. So I loaded the last save and found out you can't save during the entire scene including the first trial. :(

That sucks. :( I made it through the last scene with only two health bars left, but it took me several tries. There should at least have been a health pack somewhere. In the rest of the game you get so many options on how to do things, avoid or trick enemies, and then when you most need it, you suddenly get none of them anymore.
