Well, it´s undoubtetly the 8th of May 2018 and yet i still cannot download PoE II...it´s really kinda shabby service to not at make it available on the release day asap for preorders. Hope you will consider either forcing companies that publish via GoG that they clearly state they hate all non US citizens and hope they and their timezone die in a fire or that they friggin release the game when they promise to do so.

They release when they do according to GMT, not US time.
At least you could say what time of day it could be played

I think you're directing your comment towards GoG staff. Like most other online support forums, they're over here:

https://support.gog.com/hc

No one but your fellow gamers here.

edit: Considering it's currently 1:38am in Poland, you probably have a few hours to wait.

But Santa. You didn't bring me that Red Ryder BB semi-automatic rifle with real 100x scope and (heck, I can;t think of anything else rifle related words to stick in here. I use a Glock.) last year. :(

heh

17 hours until release on Steam.

:)

Looks more like a publisher enforced release time.

edit: I hated these when I worked for Waldenbooks. We would open at 9am but what ever huge title was being released wouldn;t be allowed until something like 2pm.

And of course the local B&Ns would go ahead and sell it right from opening.

Yeah I just checked the browser download page on GOG and it says 17hrs too... guess we'll just have to be patient!

Fairfox: never much cared for this.
i s'pose i get it if you have day off or whatevs, but otherwise this game isnt your life blood
well yea unfortunatly it is my day off and i´m pretty much afraid now that till it´s downloaded it´ll be another work day and i cannot really enjoy it much till next week so it really kinda sucks.

Also, i just really don´t understand why those publishers don´t at least allow their prepurchased game to be pre downloaded so it´s playable asap - kinda should be the standard. It just feels like the industry is just ignoring their customers more and more (which i expect from ea, but not soo much from obsidian/versus evil).

The poster is apparently in Germany, and even if they were in the US, the US is behind GMT.

Anyway, to answer the OP - midnight release is not the norm. Wait until the day starts properly.

I do understand how timezones work. I'm just saying that not every release is centered around a US day. As you stated midnight is not a generally used release time.
