I haven't played the base game yet, but I've heard great things about Dagon. I'll play it as soon as I can and if I can, I'll buy the dlc's as well. Many thanks to the people behind the project and, of course, to GOG!
As of Dagon:
Quite interesting. It's about half an hour of storytelling with little to no interaction, but it's close enough to Lovecraft's atmosphere that it's worth completing. Poor performance under Linux/Wine.
Hey! Wanted to open a new thread for this.

Dagon Full Game is Free here https://www.gog.com/en/game/dagon_by_h_p_lovecraft
The story is firm and the game is crafted with love.

I am not a fan of H. P. Lovecraft ... Don`t know the guy, but the things he was writing are... entertaining ^
20 Aug 1890 is his date of birth, in three days he is 133. He died hungry in 1937. God bless him.

Dagon is my entry into this crazy world, a year ago. I tend to create my world, always filled with God's omnipresence that is giving me superpowers to defend against everyday demons, I would risk saying that Cult of the Lamb is the newest parody of Christians, I would risk saying that Lovecraft (at least some of, ... ok I know one, well two, and still risking to say) so his ...artworks are stretched story of Earth mythology of underwater creatures. It`s interesting for someone absorbed in the world of ....theories about the truth of a planet and its Ocean... and mind itself.

the game has achievements too
wishlisting DLC

Nice initiative, feed hungry people and help them get home. Feed stupid orcs too, and help them get home too. Mums need sons for autumn works all right.

Love everyone and tell the truth. ^ ... and while they know tell stories too.
The Little Glass Bottle DLC
The Eldritch Box DLC
This is probably going to play like the base Dagon, which I would describe as a cross between a visual novel and a walking simulator. It was more about telling a story while being authentic to that story as it was written, but with an environment that you could explore to a limited degree as the story progressed.

If you're looking for an actual game, you're going to be disappointed.
There is no game.

While Lovecraft was certainly a product of his time, in terms of his ethics and philosophy, he certainly had a PROFOUND influence on the horror and supernatural genres.

I think he is Tolkeinesque in his world building and his contributions to defining features of eldritch horror which persists in modern story telling today.

So these visual walk throughs of his work, I find rather interesting in bridging the gap between being able to understand his older writing style and our imaginations.

Dagon was pretty interesting. I got my copy when it was free. So I liked it, but it didn't cost me anything.
At a low price this could also be a good way to spend some time. Kind of like buying a comic book.

The base game is still free of charge. What isn't free are the two DLC's currently on sale here at GOG.
Honestly, both DLCs are very pocket-friendly and a great way to support the developer/publisher.
