Whoever said "noble" was a compliment?

Crusader Kings Complete, a true game of thrones, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com with a 50% launch discount!

Crusader Kings Complete remains one of the most intriguing concepts in Paradox Interactive's grand-strategy games as the title that focuses on building a single, unbreakable dynasty of rulers. Your lineage is all that should matter, everything else is secondary. Crusader Kings Complete simulates a complex network of dukes, counts, and all manner of nobles - all competing for their place in history books. You'll engage in courtly intrigue and betrayal, you'll bribe, manipulate, and assassinate your way into wealth and power. Then, you'll sire a successor, maybe a dozen. The one worthy of carrying your legacy, will be the last to hear you scream.

Are you up to the merciless game of courtly intrigue, thrones, and betrayal? Crusader Kings Complete is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com! The 50% launch discount will last for one week, until Tuesday, February 24, at 1:59 PM GMT.
Out of the initial Paradox batch, this is the game I'm most interested in due to the fact that we're unlikely to get CK2 on GOG any time soon. But while I understand that the game is worse than CK2, how much worse is it exactly? Does the game still reasonably hold up or is one better off waiting for CK2?
Does anyone know if the game comes with a CD-key? It is needed to register it in the official Paradox Forums.

The CK1 UI is terrible, and I find the map somewhat ugly (which is purely a matter of taste, but a problem for me since the map is what you'll be looking at 50% of the time). Apart from that, it has its own charm and style, its own events, its own details that were not ported to CK2. Older Paradox games are also a little more scripted than the recent batch.

Your call, but it's a game in its own right. It's just more "unrefined" than CK2, especially in the UI

Huinehtar: I believe it's difficult to judge CK after CK2.
If you compare CK Complete (with the Deus Vult addon) with a CK2 up-to-date (with all DLCs), that CK2 has a lot of features more than CK.
Not only it does have more features but it does have a lot of interesting mods too! ;-)

I agree too, and some variations of the maps like the one for economics in the vanilla game are not so easy to understand. I personally like the Mappa regnorum mod map a lot more because while its map is more minimalistic, it is clearer and has a 'EU feeling' imho (and it has many more countries as well :p).

Sure! And it will have more and more (until the CK3's release) because CK2 is a priority for the whole CK series fans community.

Does anyone have a leftover promo code of Crusader Kings Complete ? I can trade a GOG game from the current indie promo .

I am curious, does this work to ask for a trade in the release thread?
