If you are familiar with Sierra-style adventuring you know just what you're up against – this is your chance to step into the shoes of a Naval Officer on a quest to rescue "the ambassador" and prevent total war. You're mistaken. It has 10 different regions with 10 different prices.

You're seeing no money back because the Netherlands price is cheaper than the USA price. The countries that are dearer are Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden and Poland.

mistermumbles: It's probably more of a case of GOG saying they'll guarantee it'll run on Windows 7 and up. They just won't provide support for XP. I really doubt ScummVM suddenly stopped working on this outdated version of Windows.

Now the real question is: Why are you still running XP on your main PC?
Meh..I guess they've just prepared new template for game card with XP removed by default. Remember a number of releases of new games with DX11/8GB RAM and XP as min OS required :-)

Why I'm still running XP? Because it does its job :-)

I don't think there are valid technical reasons not to support XP for ScummVM/DOSBox driven games... On the other hand - I could think of some valid buinsess reasons to do so....Still If that's the case - some official statement would be nice.

Back whene I first came to GOG in 2008, people were bitching about how GOG did not support Windows 98...........

GOG probably feels that the number of people who use XP as their primary computer OS has shrunk to the point where it's no longer worthwhile from a sales viewpoint for them to adapt games to run in XP.

GOG probably feels that the number of people who use XP as their primary computer OS has shrunk to the point where it's no longer worthwhile from a sales viewpoint for them to adapt games to run in XP.
Or, for that matter, to keep having to maintain that ancient OS on one or two computers at the office just for compatibility testing purposes. Especially given that Galaxy no longer supports it either.

I am pretty sure gog will alwlays have a computer running XP for testing purporses around since they now offer many games which were programmed in and for XP,and you need (obviously) a computer running XP to tweak the game for more modern systems. But, yeah, GOG has been phasing out XP support for some time now.

Apparently in your region it's not but it is so in Poland - see attachment. Sure, 0.10 zł is almost nothing but it's the concept of regionally priced oldies that I don't agree with.

Glad to see this classic finally make it here, too bad my financial obligations haven't left any room to treat myself for Easter; wishlisted for now, and hope to get it soon.

I am going to give this a pass for now;from what I have been reading it's was one of the less successful Sierra Adventures games, and the features people are complaining about are the things that drive me crazy in playing adventure games.
It does to seem to be one of Sierra's misfires ;and just because it was made in the 1980's by Sierra does not make it a "classic" if you mean it is a good game.

I don't intend to buy this game, I've played it in the past, and it's pretty bad. Still, I'm glad it's here, because I obsessively want all Sierra adventure games (and some of their good non-adventure games) to someday show up on GOG.

Thanks for the list - I few there I completely forgot about.

Some of those games, though, will need to be sold in packs like the quest games. While I understand from a business point of view, from us consumers, paying separately for individual ancient games seems unreasonable.

At the very least, all games in a series should be sold together. It didn't seem right selling the two laura bow games separately.

Aw yeah, great to see we are still indeed getting more Activision games.

There are still quite a few Sierra games that could come - Outpost 1 & 2, Throne of Darkness, Manhunter 1 & 2, Mixed-Up Fairy Tales, Inca 1 & 2 (do it for Jeff Gerstmann!), etc. etc. -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Sierra_Entertainment_video_games

Not to mention more recent Activision "classics" like Call of Duty 1 & 2 and Empire: Dawn of the Modern World.

Also, a post about dropping Win XP and Vista support should be made public imo; the dropping makes sense to me, but assuming it is an official thing, it should get an official newspost.

EDIT: Some of the classics are Win95 only though so they may have a tough time showing up (unless an emulator ends up supporting them).
