In a world where a robot revolution failed, the last humans search for a way to survive and escape – Beacon of Neyda is now available on GOG!

A side-scroller strategy game where you have to survive waves of enemies while creating and upgrading your base. Build where you want – defend what you can.

Now on GOG!
Demo was great, looking forward to dive into the full game.
I was looking forward to it, thanks for the release!

Congrats to the devs, difficult development especially after the kickstarter failed, glad to see at least we got a release eventually.
Looks nice! So many 2D scrolling games look great but demand too many reflexes, acrobatics and hard bosses for me, this one seems to have a reasonable pace, and sci-fi is a welcome change from fantasy :-)
Good, even nice, trailer music. Makes me wonder what the opposing side (Failed Robot Revolution) listens to...
I just love the art and design of this title!
We’re lucky to see it on GOG, I’ve only heard good things about Beacon of Neyda.

i hope that the sales will be good to ratrape the kickstarter which did not work.

I get the impression this game is supposed to be played on a very large TV. The sprites are very small.

From the Kickstarter page:
"...inspired by Kingdom games."

I guess they mean Kingdom: New Lands and Kingdom: Two Crowns. I like New Lands and am currently playing Two Crowns on steam which can be played currently for free for a short period of time, so I will have to try the demo of this game.

I bought it here on GOG, I'm currently playing it, and personally, I really like it.
I've seen that there are a few minor things they're still working on, but I hope you enjoy the game as much as I do.

I just tried the demo on steam and rage quitted in the first mission after the tutorial, in which one has to repair the first tower.
First, this has far too many keys because the controls seem to be designed with controllers in mind. Far too often I pressed the wrong key.
Second, I have no idea what the range of the drones are. I had a drone station a bit but not too far behind a defence tower and a barricade but the drone, set to repair, didn't do anything.
Third, the enemies don't spawn at the edges of the level but near certain locations, which can end up right in the middle of your "controlled" area. Combined with defence towers that, even with updates, need several hits to kill an enemy; mass spawning of enemies in mentioned locations after disturbing them; free space requirements of your buildings; the need to provide enough energy for you buildings which also means increasing the range of your energy net, resulted in a frustrating defeat for me.
And there were also some other, smaller things that in sum made this game rather frustrating and annoying for me.

Yes, it's true, I've noticed some of the flaws you mention. I use the controller and even that isn't so simple. Perhaps the game was released a little too quickly. I don't know if they had testers?

I sent them a few problems I encountered. But above all, they need to improve the understanding of what's going on, such as the drones that only work in powered areas.

It's a small team, but they are already aware of some of the issues you mentioned, as well as those I brought to their attention. They have already made quite a few fixes since the demo was released a year ago and will continue to do so.
I am confident because they do not seem reluctant to put in a lot of effort to improve even the smallest details. So I think the game will be really good once the major fixes have been made, exactly as we imagine it.

Sounds good because I actually like the idea and the graphics. So I reinstalled the demo yesterday and tried it again. On the third try yesterday I was able to beat the mission.
My solution to the drone problem was to put the defence towers directly next to energy towers and a barricade in front of it depending on the direction the enemies come from. So all buildings are pretty much in the middle of the energy grid of the energy towers. And enemies were also destroyed in range of the grid. Before that I had placed the defences at the edge of the energy grid. Drones are actually able to service a complete side of a level so I had three drone stations on each side of the main hub: one for repairing, one for defending and one for salvaging.

Thank you for your feedback, it's great to hear.
I'm also very close to completing the mission. ;-)

Once I've done that, I'll make a short list of suggestions for the developers. They're really nice, and I'm sure the game will be incredible once it's polished.
