MechWarriors, assemble!

BATTLETECH is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
**Buy it until May 8 to get Shadowrun Returns for FREE.**

If you own FTL or Into the Breach on GOG.com, BATTLETECH is 10% off until April 26, 4pm UTC.
If you're eligible for these offers but didn't get them, please reach out to Support.

It's 3025 and the world is being torn apart by conflict while an interstellar civil war is a-brewing. The only way to survive is by leading your own mercenary outfit of MechWarriors through this brutal power struggle between corrupt rulers and ambitious aristocrats. Customize your giant BattleMechs and pilots, keep them upgraded and fit for battle, then unleash them upon your enemies in turn-based skirmishes that might as well decide the future of this war-ravaged world.

Go for the Deluxe Edition to also get the digital Art Book, OST, 4K Wallpapers, and more.
I asked them during the Kickstarter campaign, if the game will offer LAN Multiplayer... the answer was at this time already no, so... the Paradox servers don't surprise me. It's still very dissapointing.
man did i fall for the preorder trap... i paid full price when preordering a week before launch and would have gotten 10% off + a free game if i would have waited till release day... a good way to say f u to someone who gives you money upfront.

Interesting. So fuck DRM free multiplayer I guess. Well, I bought for the single player anyways. Still their loss when the multiplayer goes tits up when their servers close. BTW one of the reasons GOG became big was this argument. Guess nowadays that we have the steam crowd here barely any of GOGs users give a fuck.
Real funny about corporations, the minute they become big they shed their hide.

You should still get a free Shadowrun. With discount I already contacted the support, will tell what is their answer when I get it.

Ok, more news about this.

FYI, that free DLC they offered with a Shadowhawk and an Atlas variant? It has DRM. You need to be logged on your Paradox account (in game) in order for the game to show the variants to you. As soon as you log out or block the game in your firewall, the extra content disappears.

It is not as the rest of games here on GOG where you have a little patch to add the extra content to your game. It is active just while you are online logged to Paradox :S

So that new note at the bottom of the requirements in the store page that says you need an account to redeem your codes for the extra content? Well, it's just half the truth, because you also need the account to play with the content. I can understand this for Steam but, for the GOG's classic installers?

Finally, i would like to make clear that those variants are usable single-player, it's not something for MP. You just need to enter a SP skirmish game and select them in your Mechbay to use them...if you are logged on a Paradox account.

I am very sad to discover that HBS let Paradox force this kind of things into a DRM-free game. A shame.

Edit: this things didn't happen when HBS was it's own publisher (see Shadowrun games). A real shame.

Dunno about others but the game is unplayable for me, crashes to desktop after 5 minutes with an access violation error.

Backer eligible for the Valhalla extras here too, and while it would have been nice to play with the special paint jobs and all I'll just go on without them I guess (it's just cosmetic after all). At least for the time being, until possibly-maybe there's enough backlash from other backers as well so that HBS has to come up with something to deliver the backer extras independently from that Paradox account-bound bullshit.

The campaign won't load, I left it for nearly 20 minutes and still nothing but black screen, advice box and a spinning loading graphic.

Cheers for this. None of the dll files mentioned matches my Access violation error, though I will try to uninstall and re-install the game to see if that'll work.
Had a crash in after the tutorial mission. i think it was, because i was logged into my paradox Account to get my backer rewards. Now that it says that i am offline everything works fine for me.
Sadly crashes aren't a very good first impression, but otherwise the game looks great.
Can't wait to play more tomorrow.

Do progressives have to fuck up every pop culture relevant universe which emerged like 30+ years ago? "They" as a pronoun choice for a character? You do not choose a gender but a pronoun?

I'll stick to the table top, MWO and Mechwarrior as a table top rpg. I am done with Harebrained.

And this is apart from the fact that you need a Paradox account for playing the DLC.

This is a serious problem, it means that when their dirty servers shut down, or if a person plays offline, you can't even play the full version of the single player. I hope that people will complain out loud against this mess.
