Gudadantza: Falcon 4.0 always was available only under extras not as different proper game in your library.
It was under extras of all 3 titles, not just 3.0.

My speculation is that they will release the BMS falcon officially at some point. Steam has the vanilla 4.0 falcon in the store. Anyway I'm thinking of whether to get the collection now or not.

Still cheaper than getting them individually so go for it.

Spectrum_Legacy: Kinda strange release. Makes me wonder if the whole collection/pack will disappear soon or the price gets adjusted.

Plok_HR: The Steam version of Falcon 1 got a Tandy version, not this one.

Spectrum_Legacy: Gog version should be updated too at some point, at least according to the dev who posted on steam forum.
What I see in the Images for the new release of Falcon (1987) the colors seem to be different. The past release used to have the CGA mode by default, although you could change it to the alternative palette Less ugly
It's weird that the mention of Falcon 4.0 was removed from the description. Not sure if that's recent, or if it happened a while ago. It's easy to overlook it in the "Goodies" list.
EDIT: I meant the description of the Collection page. Though there's also no mention of on the Falcon Gold page (again, other than in the Goodies list).

Try to use composit mode by using a DOSBox version that supports it. In that mode CGA supports 16 colors (with a few tricks).
It's the RGB emulation that looks so bad, in many cases even the wrong 4 base colors are used.

Yes I tried it not long ago and the game looks much better, but the images in the game page aren't the composite mode nor the alternative CGA palette. It looks closer to the Falcon AT version

Really clean and eye-catching design

Where's the "new"? They look as usual to me.

Maybe he means the "cover art" in the store (since these games were not listed individually before).

Yeah, that's what I was referring to
Paraphrasing this from memory, but basically the Falcon series was re-acquired my the resurrected Microprose, who are also have been trying to resurrect the classic "flight combat/war game that is fun but not so hardcore as to require formal training" genre of PC games.

As far as Falcon 4, it was always set up as an add on bonus and not a separate game on GOG, most likely due to the fact that it's basically not playable without the BMS mod or some overly-creative installation acrobatics. This was a nice workaround to enable people to own the required copy of Falcon 4 so they could play the BMS mod without looking for an old CD on ebay.

Microprose and the BMS team are planning on working together to keep the series going. I wish them all the best of luck and am very excited that they are attempting to bring back the kinds of games I loved as a kid.

I have no issues running it on my system, personally. The game is sturdier than it seems.
