Great release!

This looks amazing, truly a ton of work was put into it. Played the demo and can't say I wasn't impressed. I'm also a tad biased here since I love the original, as many do. Also props to devs for keeping the artstyle the way it looks, gog for keeping it drm-free and yes, to Microids, since they always bring their games here day one (+ they discount their stuff a lot which is always a nice bonus for us simpletons).

Btw it's also on consoles which reminds me of a much simpler time where I dug through the psx version in its entirety and admired on how good it was. Good times!
Very nice last faraway to a great designer :)
RIP Benoît Sokal.
Just want to say that I've just finished the original yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by it.

What a great world Benoit Sokal have created
Great game, loved this and the Dracula ones.
Was the same image supposed to be embedded in two different places on the store page?

huppumies: RIP Benoît Sokal.
Hopefully he'd be proud of this.
I've played the demo and I know it's a brilliant game, I can literally feel the care they put into it (never played the original tho).

BUT: I'm simply too dumb for this type of game and I really don't have the patience. The first puzzle in the demo (the globe) already put me to my limit, I couldn't figure it out.

So maybe I'll buy it on a huge discount, otherwise I won't get it because I'll never be able to finish it anyway.
I've purchased the game and it doesn't work! The game boots up and I get three splash screens and then the game just hangs on the third splash screen forever. I have a state of the art PC. Am I the only person with this issue?!

Must be something on your end/specific to your setup - finished it back in May, and never had any issues.
Reach out to support, see if they can help.

It's really weird, as my system specs ought to be more than adequate to run the game...

CPU: Intel Core i9 14900K
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 (the driver is up to date)
RAM: 128GB
OS: Windows 11

...yet it refuses to budge past that darn third splash screen. Still, I have submitted a tech support request to the GOG team, so we shall see what they have to say. If they offer a viable solution, then I shall be sure to post it here, for others experiencing the same problem.
Something specific to Win11 might be the problem?
I've used a Win10 machine for the playthrough.

Good luck with getting the issue resolved.
Well, I've found the problem. I had the game installed to my F:\ drive. Just to test things out, I tried installing to my C:\ drive and it works.

It's pretty stupid on the part of the developers. I literally have well over 1000 games installed on my F:\ drive and this is the first game I've encountered which insists upon being installed to the C:\ drive.

I even went in and checked the registry entries to ensure that they were all pointing towards the game's location on my F:\ drive and they indeed were, but nope; the game MUST be installed to your C:\ drive. Ridiculous. Oh, well... at least it's working, I guess.
It looks like the classic version shows the remake's Open Critic panel.
